I was shocked to read the poor reviews I about Pulcinella east. I only remember ever writing one other review on yelp but felt this review is important as I'm a big fat Italian foodie that understands quality food. I have eaten in both locations and they have quality food. The only two things that are a negative regarding this restaurant, have to order your meal with your appetizer and the food is pricey. Otherwise, this place is top 5 percent. My navy seal buddy came up last wk from Virginia Beach and we went to Pulcinellas . We both felt it was one of top 5 meals ever.

I'm not sure where these pictures came from but none of the food we ordered looked anything like this. The food was good but super over priced and if you look at their massapequa location double the price. No kids menu at all, which in montauk is unheard of. Live music was fun, waited 40 min and asked 3xs for my class of rose. They have some work to do in my opinion.

We had a very disappointing experience at Pulcinella East, partly because of the food and partly because of the terrible service. The food could best be described as...eh. It was fine but inconsistent and not worth the high prices. If you are willing to pay those prices, there are numerous places in town that have better food, service and ambiance. More specifically, the pasta dishes we got (we got a spaghetti dish and an orecchiette dish) were decent but not great. We also got a chicken dish that was dry as a bone --hugely disappointing for a $48 (!) dish. The wine was not particularly good either. The most disappointing aspect of our experience, however, was the service. Monday nights at Pulcinella are 50% off. A nice promotion to get people to come into the restaurant on an otherwise slow night. When we first got our check, they apparently forgot to take the 50% off. Not a big deal but I pointed this out and they "fixed" the check but still charged us full price for most of our dishes. The most frustrating part is that they charged us full adult prices for the kids dishes because they are "off the menu" (by the way, there is no written kids menu so all kids dishes are going to be off the menu). When we first arrived with our 4 kids, we were told that they can do various things for kids, including spaghetti and meatballs and chicken fingers. So we got 2 spaghettis and one other pasta dish. We were charged $22 and $23 for these kids dishes. They gave us about 5 different excuses as to why we couldn't get a discount on the kids dishes, but they kept pointing out that these dishes were off the menu (even though they were suggested by them for the kids). They also said that they were adult portions and that "we should have bought fewer dishes and made them share" despite that they never told us that they were going to be adult portions and that we would be charged full adult prices. We tried to politely point this out to the manager but we were met with such a rude response. I get that it's a big promotion but if you are going to offer it, you can't get mad when people expect to receive it. There were other issues with the service as well (e.g., bringing out the wrong drinks) but I'm trying to keep the review brief. We really couldn't shake this frustrating experience so we called the restaurant a few days later to talk to the manager. We explained our chief complaint - simply that the restaurant should have explained that these very pricey kids' menu dishes would not be part of the 50% off promotion - and we were met with the same "too bad" attitude. The manager actually said "I don't know what you want me to do, you already ate the food". For a brand new establishment in the customer service business competing in a place like Montauk, this was a real missed opportunity to gain a repeat customer by making this right, or at least pretending to care. We have a home in Montauk and were looking forward to having a new Italian option for us and our friends. Unfortunately, based on our experience (and especially the service), I don't see us going back.

Probably one of the worst meals I've eaten in quite some time. The clams were inedible. The veal dish had to be sent back because it was slathered in oil and tough. My daughters chicken dish arrived much after all of the other meals and was not cooked properly. The chicken parm was not authentic but rather tasted like it was from a chain restaurant. The drinks and food were severely overpriced. Although The decor was great - there was an ant trap sitting right behind us on the window sill and we still had an ant on the table. Clearly a NO GO!!

What an experience! For starters the restaurant couldn't be more beautiful, from the minute we walked through the doors we were impressed. The pasta wheel blew us out of the water as an appetizer. Ordered chicken parm as an entree and the chicken was so tender and the sauce was perfect. The service, Andrew was our server and he was phenomenal, the restaurant was busy we were a table of 14 and not once was anyone at the table looking for help, he was on top of the table at all times. What an experience to finish a family vacation, if I could give 10 stars I would!!!

We had visited Pulcinella East last month and had such a nice experience. I was overwhelmed by the menu so the wonderful waiter asked if we had allergies and if we would allow The kitchen to order for us. We were so grateful & he surprised us with the apps & main dishes. Everything was so wonderful. We are going back to Montauk this week & will visit them again.

The beat meal I have ever eaten in Montauk and the best gluten free pasta dish I have ever had. Service was top notch. They were great with our crazy little kids too.

Best authentic Italian food in MTK by far. My boyfriend and I came here the other night and the food was divine. Got the cold seafood salad and the figs (stuffed with goat cheese) - they were out of this world. I order the Pasta Pulcinella and is was amazing. Had a couple bottles of wine and enjoyed our evening on the water. Service was top notch as well!

permanently closed. Now an Italian restaurant starting mid summer 2019. Funny how an updated happy hour list for Montauk still has closed businesses

Okay so who in Montauk thinks great Italian food?! Not me, but was I surprised. This restaurant must have been recently changed to Pulcinella East and I'm glad. The restaurant is right on the lake which makes for such a great atmosphere and view. The decor is very much similar to the previous restaurant, but the food was great. We were seated right away without a reservation and it was no problem. Our server was very kind and funny. Drink menu was great and wine selection was fair priced. Ordered a bottle of wine and it was great, I believe it we ordered a Napa valley chardonnay. What I was most impressed with was the appetizers! First came the Italian egg roll dish and it was delicious but what really blew me away was the eggplant appetizer! This dish is a must have. I am not the biggest fan of eggplant but I loved this! The dish tasted so fresh, the eggplant was cooked to perfection and beyond flavorful. After leaving the restaurant I made a joke that I'll dream about this dish! For my entree I had the Chicken Pulcinella and that was also amazing! I can't wait to try their other location bc it's much closer than Montauk. If you're looking for some great food, wonderful service and dim lit atmosphere def check this place out. It would be perfect for a date night.

Visited this location for the first over this past weekend. Started with a bottle of overpriced Italian wine, which was decent. Our over zealous waiter recommended hat we allow him to order a medley of appetizers for the table. We accepted.Ee were offered octopus, shrimp and zucchini. Much to our surprise, we received prawns, octopus soup and 3 pieces of ricotta stuffed zucchini. Our small taste was it only inaccurate but complete overpriced at $75. It barely whet our appetites. We then orders entrees including Zuppe de Pesce x2., with was basically a pound of pasta with a sprinkle of inedible shellfish. The additional chicken dish was mediocre, at best. Upon notifying our waiter over the poor quality of the seafood, his reply was "everything is fresh and ordered locally" This beautiful setting formerly occupied by ENE will now undoubtedly fall vacant on completion of this summer season. Obviously, we will NOT return. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and avoid this place. It seems that the other locations did not translate well in Montauk. Total price was over $300 without gratuity for 3 persons.

We are big fans of the Pulcinella restaurant in Massapequa and finally got a chance to visit their new location out in Montauk. The food was nothing short of spectacular. The calamari appetizer never disappoints - and it was nice to see that the sauces are the same as their other location- the right amount of flavor and spice. Oftentimes- you get tomato sauces that feel too "tomato". These are complex - and have a very savory feel to them. This translated extremely well to the bolognese - and the pasta felt very fresh. The tomohawk steak was delicious - cooked exactly as we wanted it and the hint of rosemary in the potatoes was a nice touch. We got into a spirited discussion at the table on how the broccoli rabe was as good- dare we say better- than my mother in law's. The part that made this even more engaging is that my mother in law was in this conversation - agreeing with us! The location is very pretty- overlooking the water - and you can feel that it has a very relaxing atmosphere with the Italian musician playing in the background. But - the winning combination here is really the people behind the restaurant. My daughter came in reading a book, and was nicely engaged by the staff who took the time to ask about what she was reading and what she thought of it. There is a difference between being friendly and being nice - and this felt like coming to family. Ciro puts a wonderful family touch to his eateries and it's wonderful to see he is bringing this to Montauk. You are all in for a treat.

Amazing setting. Sitting overlooking the pond enjoying a glass of wine and anticipating a beautiful sunset. Delicious zucchini flowers and langostines flown in from Italy. Warm and Welcoming bartenders, waiters and a visit from the owner. Don't miss this on your next visit out east!
