I was SO hungry when I ended up at this place and was happily surprised to find they had an Octoberfest menu. I'm from Queens. I know German food. I eagerly ordered the sauerbraten but it turned out to be tough as leather, in a really bad and hard-to-eat sauce, with potato balls that I couldn't eat. They had a most unnatural texture and tasted like chemicals; I couldn't even figure out how someone did this. I never waste food but today I left most of it on the plate and literally couldn't get myself to eat much of it. with a coke and tip, $42 down the drain. Also, the server seemed to be wearing a cologne that turned my stomach when combined with all this. :(

Food was good, service was good, drinks were good and sunset view was FANTASTIC. This is a must stop if you are in the area. We had the blackened cod sandwhich and fish tacos, new england clam showder, crispy onion rings, and Pina Coladas. Our server was friendly and gave us good advice about seeing the sunset.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The view of the sea, with all those yachts, is simply spectacular. The food they recommended to us was delicious, and even though the staff didn't speak our language, they tried really hard to understand us and make us feel welcome.
We returned the next day and they surprised us with a complimentary dish, which made our visit even more special. Everything was excellent and we left very happy. We will definitely return!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!

Food was great, right by the marina and the service was good. We got the fire cracker shrimp ?, lobster salad taco and seafood pasta. For drinks, we had a watermelon ? martini and a Pina colada ?. 4-stars because women's restroom ? tissues were not stocked. They also have a corn hole game and ample outdoor seating. Overall a pleasant experience.

Confusing entrance and food was just ok. Service seemed very overwhelmed.

Had reservation for a large party which was confirmed ahead of time, understanding they are not a large establishment. Apparently they did not plan properly and were unable to seat us. Instead of apologizing and being honest we were sent to bar for $17 drinks and said would be a few minutes. More than an hour later we asked status, and were rudely told we may be able to start seating you separately or we could eat half standing around a bar table which did not fit our party and walked away mid sentence. Another family was then asked to move because we were complaining. Claimed never asked family to move, hard to believe after the other party approached us regarding. Looking to get status on our table after an hour is not complaining, we had a reservation and they did not communicate situation. Mistakes happen but rudeness, non communication and causing additional chaos among patrons is unacceptable. Unprofessional, and incapable of managing.

Was the worst experience ever. Arrived for our reservation -12 people. They were unable to accomadate us after making us wait 1 1/2 hours even though we had made the reservation. Very rude manager and bar tender. These people are way out of their league and dont know how to run a resteraunt. Clearly very unprepared. Poor 16 yr.old new hostest getting yelled at bevause owners dont lnow what they are doing. Took our business else where.
Really good quality food, and reasonably priced. The fries are lovely, clearly home made and well cooked. Slider was perfect as were the tacos! Can’t fault it! Good view of the bay too!

Gin Beach Cafe has been on my Montauk itinerary every year since it opened. Unbeatable scenery and ambiance, while being tucked away from the chaos of downtown. The food is great, and about average pricing for Montauk. Service can sometimes take a little while, but just soak in the view or take photos by the dock and it’s not a problem!
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are a bit limited - salads, sides, and a veggie burger

First time at Gin Beach Cafe. The atmosphere is lovely, what a beautiful view of the bay. We went for lunch and had wonderful meals. The smoked fish dip was excellent as well as the firecracker shrimp. I had the blackened shrimp tacos which were delicious. Will definitely add this to our favorite Montauk restaurants list!
