My parents would take us here every summer in the 70's and I've gone many times in the past few decades. The food is tasty and reasonable and the views of the boats coming into the channel are fantastic.

You're paying for the view here. It's fine and nice and I would return but prices are high.

I normally never give reviews but this restaurant is absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good restaurant for our date night. We requested a table by the window for the stunning view and were denied because it was reserved for a party of 4 or more. Its was empty there and we saw other guests sitting by the window that were couples just like us. The waitress her name is Sarah looked down on me because I’m a Latina. Racism in 2023! Just dropped off our drinks with no straws. My boyfriend asked for our lobster to be streamed and she gave us a rude look and said we only broil them. There was a bug in my glass of wine. Lobster looked old not fresh at all. We looked at other guests entrees who ordered the same as us and they had bigger portions and lobster looked clean & fresh. Will never back to this restaurant ever again

Food very average, the view is very pretty right on the ocean, and the restaurant is very clean. The service was very poor though. We had a waitress that wasn't the nicest and kept telling us, "wait, wait, wait!!" when we were about to order food or she'd go do 10 other things before she would take our order. She was very slow. I would consider the food to be overpriced and they have a very limited menu. Wine is very overpriced as well. I would go somewhere else the restaurant wasn't a great experience.

I was reading most recent reviews and was a little skeptical about going there for dinner. A few reviews mentioned that there has been a change of theirs chef and the outcome of it. What we experienced was a very limited menu and the food was not tasty at all. Not a good value for the money. We don’t have anything bad to say about location, service or the atmosphere yet people come to the restaurant for the food!?‍♂️

My aunt and uncle wanted to bring us here for a whole lobster. My aunt wanted shrimp scampi she usually gets. The online menu said they had shrimp scampi. We get there and the menu inside was slightly different. No shrimp scampi. My sister was also going to get the scampi. Then we asked about the shrimp and scallop pasta. Asked if the scallops could be omitted and only have shrimp. Waitress just said no. Without hesitation, without asking the kitchen. She said that all the food was pre made in the morning. I then said, so they cooked scallops and shrimp already? And it’s sitting there all day? She didn’t know what to say. We then asked how many shrimp came in the shrimp platter and she said 4-5 shrimp. Mind you it was priced $20-$30…. She says oh they are not the jumbo size they are medium. lol that was it. We left. She gladly said I don’t want your dinner ruined so here’s the check for the drinks. We had a glass of wine, a glass of coke and iced tea. I would have to say they must get a lot of people to walk out. I wouldn’t say she was rude she just didn’t care. I would not give this place any business. We went to the lobster house instead and had everything we wanted and more!

The Gosman's dinning view is one of the breathtaking places you should ever pay a visit at Montauk, New York. I highly recommend eating during sunset, it is the best place to be when you are with your friends, family, and lover. I personally love the food, most especially the presentation of the Japanese cuisine such as mainly the sashimi and sushi. Without a doubt your meal will never be forgotten and the dinning experience will be worthwhile as you watch the astonishing sunset and romantic scene. My father's patient is the owner of the place, he has been a great men and business leader since he ran this restaurant. Plus a lovely and respectable patient of my dear father as well.

Came for dinner, started with the crab dip that was just cheese not a hint of crab to be found. Then ordered the lobster bisque and there was a beard hair in it. So did not want to eat anything else nor did we want to make a big deal but we still paid 40 bucks and I though they have a manager apologize or comp a beer so I know they are closing for the season soon but gross is gross! No matter what time of year!

Cute restaurant right on the water! We weren't hungry for dinner until after 8pm, but this was one of the only restaurants opened late that took us in without any reservation. We ordered the raw oysters as an appetizer and then the twin lobsters as our entrees. The oysters were just ok, but the lobster was absolutely incredible. It was probably one of the best lobsters I've ever had, and my boyfriend loved it too. The service was also very fast, so we didn't have to wait long for our food.

The ambiance and service were excellent! Liked watching to boats come. The food could have been better. My lobster dinner was cold and not fresh but the desserts were great.

Cheap for the area and the shrimp basket was to die for. Super fresh and light! I got the shrimp, the tuna steak, and the red sauce pasta. Loved it all!! And the views here are amazing

I rated my experience highly due to my waiter Felipe who worked extremely hard to satisfy not only me and my wife but the whole outside dining people. He was extremely friendly and extremely efficient in taking our order and ensuring our food came in a timely fashion. He saved the night because if it wasn’t for him I would have given your establishment a very poor rating. The hostess was extremely rude and couldn’t care less about us and I heard the way she spoke to other patrons. She talked to us like we were dirt telling us we had to wait 30 minutes when there were tables available. Tables of 4 were available but were told 2 people couldn’t be seated even though there weren’t people waiting to be seated. Many thanks to Felipe for making our night memorable

Never in my lifetime would I imagine writing this review. I have spent over 40 years dining at Gosman's. As a child, I could not wait for the basket of crackers and bread to be served and fed to the seagulls. I loved the honor of the wait staff dressing me with a lobster bib. I would beg to go to dinner prior to nightfall so I could watch the boats come in with their catch of the day. My father would order steamers and the netting would be bursting at the seams. My best friend and I would order clam chowder with an over abundance of oyster crackers. Mom would request the lobster bisque and nearly lick the bowl. We would dine on lobsters and watch families walk the landings searching for the best spot to take their annual Christmas card photo. Gosman staff would buzz around tending to the customers, but always willing to slow down and share stories of their homeland of Ireland. I have so many cherished memories of Gosman's. However, I am sorry to share that this will be the last year I will ever dine here. The writing is on the wall. The owners have no interest in bringing Gosman's back to life. Heck, they are not even willing to offer a bake potato on the menu. The staff is slim, the tables are empty, the menu is sparse and the pride in ownership is gone. Gosman's has gone fishing...with no plan of a return.
