Montauk Manor is our winter escape. We reserve a condominium with a view of the ocean and we relax. The building itself is stunning. On Valentine's Day, we went out to dinner and then spent an hour afterwards looking at the night sky. It's much darker than where we live and we truly enjoyed the view. Amy Esposito, the in-house masseur at the Day Spa 516 313-7027 is awesome. Make sure to reserve your time with her in advance. Since each condo has a kitchen, snacking and partying in the room is easy. And the front desk does all they can to enhance your stay. Friends of ours have enjoyed the Halloween Mystery Night and other events. Check the website for current listings. The Montauk Lighthouse is nearby and there are also lots of local opportunities for hiking and walking on the beach.
Overall, a good bite for myself the family.Drinks are pretty strong (not a terrible thing)Appetizers were tasty (the crispy mozzarella was to die for), the sauteed Brussels sprouts were a good choice as well.On to the mains, the hilltop burger was good, although it was slightly undercooked (asked for well, it came back medium well), the penne a la vodka was cooked nicely with chunks of parmesan (loved it).Our waitress was terrific and was genuinely helpful but was sadly overbooked (she was there by herself).
Kid-friendliness: They had a high chair for our son which was helpful
So much character & history plus amazing views I’d recommend a visit, room was large, well appointed and comfy - massive bed, dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave really useful Staff were super-helpful and friendly, especially the drivers who’ll give you a lift down to the town etc - that’s a real asset Only negative is out of season no restaurant or bar left the place feeling a little soulless Tennis & pool look great for in the warmer weather and we were offered board games too I’d definitely come back
We really enjoyed dining here. Atmosphere could use some attention. We liked the casual environment but it felt a bit like a college dining room trying to be cool with the garage doors and painted floor. Great food! We enjoyed the brussels sprouts side as an appetizer and the fried cheese. FOS broth was good but there needs to be more cheese on the top (just the little bit of bread in the center had cheese...definitelythe wrong type of bowl for serving). Penne Vodka was perfect and loved the addition of the asparagus. My husband enjoyed his burger. Drinks came out quickly and were good and strong! Our waitress was awesome! And she took care of all the tables on her own!! Kudos to her lovely service with a smile!! If the decor was updated a bit, and a few more options in the $17-$25 bracket added, I feel like this place could be pretty packed on the weekends!
We came with a film crew and we received the WARMEST welcome from the entire staff! Donna, Tracy, Patty and Janice are some of the BEST. They went out of their way to make us so welcome and they provided the upmost care to us. The building is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. We just loved it so much!
We had an excellent meal at the Hilltoplast evening. Rockefeller stuffed mushrooms were amazing. Fish was fresh, beautifully presented and deliciously prepared. Staff was friendly and helpful.it was our first visit. We will definitely be back.
We had a family wedding in Montauk this weekend and made reservations months ago for a Thursday night- Sunday stay. I came down with Covid this Tuesday which changed our plans as I had to quarantine (besides feeling horrid). I called Tuesday to cancel with an explanation and a legitimate doctor's test showing that I tested positive (not a home test) and was told that I was too late (within 10 days) and that there would not be a refund. If I wasn't 6 hour car trip away, I would have have been tempted to go just to spread my germs to the front desk folks who were less than helpful. $1200 bucks wasted. Think VERY CAREFULLY before you book here.
We booked our yearly trip off season midweek. I just love everything about this property and building. At first I was sad to learn the indoor pool was still under renovation- as my kids love to swim. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the outdoor pool was still open and heated. It was just beautiful. We usually go later in the fall- this was a brand new experience for us.
The Manager made us feel very uncomfortable. I stayed there for 3 nights and it was the same scenario each time. She would attend to our table last. It was really an unpleasant experience. The food was fine.
Beautiful place! However it’s run by your sober church aunt. Way to many rules and usage of the property could be so much more with a bit charm from management. Restaurant was lit like a school cafeteria at night with big bright coca-cola glass fridges. Visiting the bar felt like you where but put in the corner to be ashamed. Pool closes way to early. Every staff I met was nice and agreed with us so it must come from management/coop.

What an unexpected surprise. Fabulous service, wonderful food, all for a great price. Highly recommend to all.
We were traveling with friends and hoped to get a room near theirs. My husband contacted the hotel via phone and was told we couldn’t reserve a room near or next to them as we had come through a 3rd party. We were then told to request a room close to our friend’s when we arrived. We did exactly that and on arrival the same woman who my husband spoke to said we couldn’t do this. And that the room was already allocated and the room categories were different- even though we basically paid the same amount as our friends. The reception staff need customer service training. One in particular was pretty rude, and very matter of fact.- with no concept of how to talk to customers. To top this we were told we could either have a partial room house keeping service or no service at all. We went for partial, not knowing that meant you got towels in your room and not much else- eg no beds made. I would have expected a full service with the amount we paid! The carpets in the hallways and in our room were dated, and so too was the furniture. The highlight was the lobby and sea view from our friend’s room, but for the amount we paid, the hotel certainly wasn’t worth it. You get better customer service at a Days Inn.
A true find in MontaukAmbiance, food, service5 star. Our waitress katalina also a treasure. Garden seating quaint and peaceful.
The lodging was perfectly acceptable but the staff are incredibly rude to hotel guests. Do not stay here unless you are a resident or know a resident. They treat hotel guests terribly. I paid prime high season rates and was treated like it was a “favor” that I was “allowed” to stay there.
My friends and I have stayed here for our Annual Montauk trip for several years. Such poor communication & inconsistent information from front desk staff each and every time you call. I am not sure what they have staffed there, but clearly they all need training. Another thing they could ALL use some training with is customer relations. Every time you go to or call the front desk for something it's as if you are bothering the staff. I understand times are difficult right now and I always take that into consideration with my reviews, but the rudeness received from that staff is in my opinion, unacceptable. However, other staff members the opposite. So friendly, inviting and warm. The restaurant staff great, shuttle drivers, even better and cleaning staff always say, "Hello." Management should think of switching the hotel staff with their front desk staff and it would have been a more pleasant stay. Our room this year (2 BR "Suite") also meh at best. Floor blanks had big gaps that can be easily tripped on, shower sliding door broke and very difficult to open and close and the bathroom vanity door broke. Normally I would over look these things and not write about it, but given the service at the front desk and price... Pool is great and beautiful views from here. From the outside the hotel is beautiful, only wished their front desk staff matched the same beauty.
