Fabulous ❤️
Great historical place to visit!
What’s the point of stairs if it’s high up? Caught a dogfish.
Expensive tickets to even get close to the lighthouse is kind of a bummer especially after paying to park. Walking around is fine and also the cliffs nearby make it worth the 8 dollar fee to park but not worth 40-50 for a family to go to the lighthouse after
Worth a visit
Parking is $8. After 4pm its free. There is admission fee to enter lighthouse $15. Not worth it. 3 stars because the view of the ocean is breathtaking.
I was a surreal experience. We went there on a weekend. You should be there by early afternoon to have better experience. There are picnic spots near the light house too. There was line of 40-50 minutes to see the top of the functioning lighthouse.
Beautiful lighthouse with even more beautiful views.
A beautiful National Historic site rich in display both natural and man-made, with inside and outside adventures.
Its a long trip but the sunset was worth it!

A very nice place to spend a perfect Summer day.
I was in East Hampton on business, and decided to drive out to the point because I was already so close. Why not, right? The weather sucked this day, so I intend to go back.
A must visit for anyone living, or visiting N.Y. I make it out there at least twice a year. I use to go more often when I lived on Long Island. It's so beautiful out there. I've also walked up to the top of the lighthouse, which wasn't easy, but worth it. Pack lunch, or stop at one of the restaurants on your way through. Its a nice day trip.
I've really taken a liking to lighthouses recently and enjoy the history of them and photographing them, and this being one of the oldest lighthouses in the country (1796), and being so picturesque at the very eastern tip of Long Island, it makes a beautiful backdrop to head out there to view and photograph the sunrise. Although the lighthouse doesn't open for tourism until later in the morning, the beachfront dunes is great to marvel at the sunrise as well as watch the light from the lighthouse as it continues to do its job.
The lighthouse itself has a museum with the story of the lighthouse, artifacts and documents from when the land was purchased in 1792 and the history of building the lighthouse. There is even a model in another room showing the evolution of the lighthouse over the years. And, for a fee, you can climb the 137 steps to nearly the top of the 110 foot tall structure and take in a spectacular view. There's also LIRR train service to Montauk if you don't want to drive.
Wonderful views, well worth the visit of you are on long Island.
