Rooted is an oasis within Montauk! Food and service were outstanding. Even something as simple as the meat and cheese platter was done really well with inventive and fresh assortment. Don't forget to leave room for the carrot cake though... best I've ever had!
I was referred to rooted by a colleague. We had the most delicious plate of cherry tomato burrata with bread on the side and I must say… the best burrata plate I have ever tried. For mains I had fish and my friend had steak which we both enjoyed. It’s a pity they didn’t have gluten free desert options as I am a little bit of a sweet tooth. In general great service, incredible atmosphere w delicious food.
In a sea of tourist traps with below-average food and above-average prices, there is Rooted. My wife & I were there on a Tuesday night. The place was filled with local restaurant workers on their night off - which is always a good sign. The food was delicious and portions big. The bill was not inexpensive - this is Montauk after all - but it was fair. Our server was kind and attentive. In other words, it was great. They had a musician named Bobby Murray playing acoustic guitar...
