Have not eaten here-just went in for drinks. Met the owners-very nice people and I wish them well. I asked around about the food and people were enjoying their meals. If you've been to the old sail inn you feel like you're on another planet. They did a nice job with the place.

Total gem. Walking distance from the Soundview so we popped in to check it out. What an unexpected surprise. Decor was understated nautical, felt like we were inside a classic and comfortable wood boat. The servers were adorable- clearly family who care about the place. The food was seriously delicious. Best seafood I've had in years- the black seabass was the special and it was fresh and delicate, flavors were well balanced. My friend had the chicken dish and similarly raved. Don't miss the dessert- ours was an Italian specialty cake, I'm not usually a sweet fan but I wished I'd gotten my own and not shared. They had live music playing right outside on the front patio that was perfect for the relaxed mood. Overall what a treat- perfect meal for our last night in montauk.

I live in Manhattan and travel to Montauk for business often throughout the Summers. After hearing The Sail Inn was under new ownership, I booked a weekend there. I have since stayed three more weekends, the second two with my wife. The newly renovated rooms are clean, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Beds and pillows are also quite comfortable and my wife and I both slept very well. Bathrooms are gorgeous, and the shower was divine, like standing under a waterfall. It was quite hot during most of our stays, and the air conditioner (with thermostat) kept the entire room cool and comfortable the entire time. The owners and staff are extremely warm, friendly and accommodating, and made us feel like family right off the bat. The owners are also part owners of the famous Elio’s restaurant in Manhattan, and brought in a former chef from Elio’s make the new menu for the Sail Inn Tavern, which is attached to the hotel. The result is a truly sublime dining experience, with an impressive menu and daily specials. Cocktails were also top-notch, and they also have live music and karaoke on the weekends. The Sail Inn is located within walking distance of beaches, marinas, restaurants, bars, etc., and a five minute car ride to town and other attractions. It’s set back off the road and surrounded by trees and shrubs that provide a uniquely peaceful, serene setting. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the porch outside our room and just watching the birds, butterflies, bunnies and the occasional deer pay a visit. If I have anything negative to say about The Sail Inn, it’s that you can’t stay in the shower forever! My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay here and very highly recommend The Sail Inn to anyone traveling to the Montauk area.

Had dinner at the Sail Inn tonight and have to say the food was great. We had great service from both Velaine and Luca. We heard there were new owners and decided to give it a try. Authentic quality Italian food in a relaxed old Montauk atmosphere. Great wines by the glass. Can’t wait to return!

Awesome local hidden gem(so lets keep this between us) ... one less star for 11pm closing is a bit early, we were just getting started and last call. Oh well maybe that will change. Lmk

If you like you money don’t go there, George is extremely rude, he is super selective about locals and turista, ( a little be xenopho***) he doesn't understand the concept of working with hospitality requires sociable people, Mountauk survives on tourist money so they should review the unacceptable and rude behavior towards people visiting there.Don’t waist your time there, there’s better options with friendly people.

Great local spot. Reminds you of a Cheers type bar. Pool table and darts inside too. Really cool and down to earth staff. I will definitely come back!!
