We have been going to see Tom at Star Island Grill for quite some time....whether we have fish or not.... He and his crew have treated us to an amazing meal and friendship, each time... Tonight, he had time to prepare something a little different.... the night before, we were talking about things we like.... and tonight, he prepared 3 dishes with all we talked about... absolutely over the top flavor and quality! All dishes were Fluke.... 1) Fish in Sambuca sauce with zucchini over asparagus. 2) Panco Crusted with tomatoes, onion and peppers in wine sauce over vegetables 3) Shrimp Stuffed filet over risotto And the most delicious brownie, custard, ice cream as dessert...

They will cook your catch !! Have them make some fish tacos, some general Tsao and some tempura, all 3 ways are delicious!! The view of the marina from the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is top notch! We were a group of 12, and everyone loved the experience

When we eventually got served, the server was good. It was a Monday evening, and I'm assuming they weren't expecting many people because they only had 2 servers doing it all. Hosting, waiting, bussing. For the prices they were charging, they should staff better. The waitress passed us at least 3 times without even saying a word while we were waiting to be seated. A simple "be right with you" would have sufficed. When we eventually got seated over 15 min later (we were the only ones waiting and 75% of the place was empty), it took over 20 min to get our order taken. Even the waiter rolled his eyes that nobody had taken our order yet. $16 for 6 frozen Mozzerella sticks off the kids menu, and it didn't even come with fries. That is an insult. If you are going to charge gourmet prices, you should serve gourmet food. Otherwise, the atmosphere was nice, with good views and ample games to keep the children occupied as we waited. As well as a small outdoor fish tank with lobsters in it. The food came out reasonably quick after the order was put in and the staff did their best.
Kid-friendliness: They had a kids' menu, and it was bnoxiously overpriced for what you receive

One Word - AMAZING. Food was phenomenal. We had salmon with sesame noodles, sea bass tacos, and grilled swordfish over mushroom risotto. We ended up sharing because they were all so good. Fully recommended and kudos to the chef. A special word about our waiter, Alphonso, hard working courteous, and a Gentleman. Again, fully recommended!!!

My dog sat with me under the table. Was seated quickly and my seat overlooked the pool and boats on montauk lake. The ceiling fans and open windows provided a nice breeze. The salad and grilled chicken were good.
We got there a little before an hour they were closing didn’t feel rushed. food was so good, my BF had the coconut Shrimp over Spinach. I had the grilled swordfish with vegetables. And as a starter we had shrimp dumplings. I left full. Live music we got there with about 30 minutes left of his performance.

Such a lovely place. We have a dog and were worried that we wouldn't be able to order food because of it, but staff was so welcoming, they even suggested us to sit, but we've decided to take food away. We've tried white chowder and fish tacos - both were incredibly tasty. Chowder has great balance between fish, veggies and cream. Tacos were full of flavour and different textures like soft fish, crunchy veggies, smooth sauce and bouncy seaweed.

Absolutely outstanding! We brought in our fresh fish ( flounder and striper) for the "you hook-we cook" and they prepared us an incredible feast! Excellent service and atmosphere, definitely one of the best restaurants in Montauk!
