Went Saturday night and asked for a recommendation. They prepared a beef dish. I was sick an hour after eating. Will not eat there again.

Used to take out fairly large orders from Lotus East about once a month when I'd get together with my parents and siblings and would also eat there occasionally. It was always very good. I've migrated to more authentic Asian foods offered by the local establishments near SBU, but I sometimes have an urge for old-school Cantonese. I ordered take-out for my immediate family and it wasn't the same tastes and flavors. I was disappointed. Flavor was lacking, fried rice texture was different (more of a yellow rice than fried). Egg Foo Young was a bit watery and the once rich sauce was now bland. Upon picking it up, I also didn't recognize the front desk people. I've since learned the owners have changed from the last time I went (a few years ago). Boy, how different management and employees can drag a place down. It's not the same. Used to be top-notch. Now, the flavor is nothing more than every run of the mill strip mall Chinese food takeout place.

Mediocre at best. Three stars for the old school sit down Chinese-American dine in vibey experience, but the food we ordered was so bland I took it as leftovers and it needed sooooo much sautéed garlic, soy & oyster sauce and a dab of toasted sesame oil at home to make it edible. We got a bunch of Lunch specials because we happened to be there during lunch so they came with pints of wonton soup that required a magnifying glass to see the meat inside the wontons. Broth was meh. Same with the general Tso's chicken, which I haven't ordered in maybe 20 years but did for nostalgia and they were fried balls of hard batter. General Tso's batter more like lol I also think they're anti garlic here also :/ You've heard of gluten free, Lotus is garlic free. Maybe they're catering to the area and maybe something in the Suffolk County water killed everyone's taste buds, but unfortunately I don't think I'll ever return because I still have my taste buds intact :(

I've been here maybe 15 times. The food and service is always very good. I love a full service Chinese restaurant.

I love this place. They have the best Chinese food in my area. My favorites are there sautéed string beans, their pork fried rice & their BBQ'd ribs on or off the bone. Any of their dishes are freshly made. Take out or dine in. They have dinner specials as well. The staff is courteous and has excellent customer service. You won't be disappointed.

When did tipping become manditory? Dont get me wrong. I always leave a tip. 20% if service was good, 25% if its great. But 15% if it is poor service. I went last nite, the waiter was ok, he gave us our food in a timley fashion however my wife ordered a drink which never came. When we asked, he blamed the bartender. Ok no biggie, when the bill came he was trying to grab it before i could review it, as if he was hiding the drink he never gave us. When i looked, he did have it on the bill, so i had it removed. I left him a 15% tip which i thought was generous. When he saw the tip he literally turned and walked away. When i said good nite, he ignored me and walked away. I know this isnt a big deal, just a shame being how expencive everything is, its not cool to feel like i am the bad guy. What ever happened to coustomer service? I guess the customer is always right is a thing of the past.
