I really wanted to like this place, but after trying 3 times, each time was a disappointment.First, let me say the food is decent, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The first time I went there, I ordered a side of Mac and Cheese with my entree, but it wasn't served until I was almost finished with my meal. The second time, I asked for more soda and after waiting 15 minutes, during which our server came to our table multiple times to remove dishes from the table, we asked for the bill. The soda was served after I had already paid. The third time, I ordered the steak and eggs, medium rare and the steak was well done. I asked for more soda again, and after waiting 15 minutes, during which our server cleaned off another table even though it was not busy, we asked another server. They charged me for 3 sodas even though I had only had one refill. I don't understand why cleaning off the tables takes a higher priority then bringing a refill, especially when it isn't busy.
The atmosphere was great, and my server Glen was amazing! For starters we tried the Baby Duke's Clams Casino and it was delicious! For the main course, we had the Broiled Salmon, yellow rice, and mixed vegetables and the Shrimp Scampi Linguine both dishes were a hit! A perfect balance, they were out of cornbread when we were there. I also enjoyed the Passion Fruit Frozen Margarita. I enjoy Baby Duke's Kitchen and I will return
Kid-friendliness: Baby Duke's has a Kid Menu
The food was good just not what we care for. The atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly. The wait time for the food was a bit long even though the restaurant wasn't crowded when we arrived.
This was our first visit as a little one. Wasn't unsure if we had to wait to be seated or if we can sit ourselves. As soon as we sat down, the efficiency of the whole experience was great. We received glasses of water and amazing cornbread with honey while we waited to place our order. The food was delicious. The crab cakes were delicious as well as the creamy Cajun pasta. The kid cheeseburger and fries are definitely kid approved. Ate every last bite and was full. We arrived before the start of karaoke. It was fun listening to everyone sing. The music wasn't obnoxiously loud. We were still able to hear the songs but hear each other in conversation. We will definitely be back to visit again! Kid approved 10 out of 10.
Decent food. Friendly service. The cocktails were ok, the Paloma and Red Sangria were best. Catfish Po Boy was good but needed a little heat or acid (or both) to make it perfect (pickled slaw or Sriracha/garlic mayo would have been awesome). Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and a walk around the park and harbor afterwards.
Restaurant has a small parking lot available for their patrons with very limited spaces and could be tight for new or inexperienced drivers. Restaurant has great deals every day of week and my group stopped in early on a Tuesday so they highlighted Tacos and Tequila (Margaritas). If you go around opening then the frozen drinks are not ready right away and menu might be limited for some time based on the readiness of the cooks and kitchen. It's a family friendly Restaurant with very few kid interactions but the servers are friendly and highly recommending of the seafood dishes.
Cool fusion of soulful seafood cuisine, desserts and cocktails . The music is rich and fun. Color array of guests.Rum punch is DeliciousSeafood is fresh and divinely tasteful
I went when it was busy with my wife and kids. We waited almost an hr to get our food, but when we did get our food, fugettahboutit! It was worth the wait.Very good. Drinks were pretty good too. The white sangria was on point.
Horrible, use to be soulfood, they changed without telling anyone. I ordered fried fish, came with the driest tasteless rice and a salad that looked days old and was not dressed. I brought it to their attention they reluctantly exchanged it for mashed potatoes but i had to request gravy & dressing for my salad. I asked for a small plate to remove the dried out rice & they didn't even offer to help remove the bad product from my plate...hopefully they will realize that its the small things & attention to the details that keep a restaurant afloat...act like you care...poor product & service. I will not return! I promise!
Have only had the pleasure of enjoying takeout: Crab cakes dinner first time, fried Whiting the second! Delicious, all seasoned just right and I tasted the love these dishes were made with!

Went back to BABY Duke's the second time and it was horrible...! I had the waitress to reheated my food. My sangria drink had no fruits ? in it, a flower. This was on FATHER'S DAY ?. My family was very disappointed, food was not good.
Food was good, reasonably priced, and the portions were large. Our waitress was friendly. Restaurant was clean and decorated nicely.
Tried Baby Dukes for the first time recently because the menu items looked delicious and I like supporting local businesses. I hate to post a negative review, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The negative experience began as soon as we sat down. If you weigh over 150lbs, BYOC (Bring your own chair). Larger, heavier guests will love the menu and food choices, but you will hate the seating. Small, hard, pad less trendy chairs similar to something you might find in a chipotle, but worse. You will want to stand after just 2-3 minutes in these chairs. Not ideal for sitting and enjoying some Cajun soul food & good company and conversation. Soda: we ordered Coke and expected just that. What we received was a watered down version of a generic soda that tasted more like freaky dog (which I hate). Basically the soda was disgusting. We ordered wings for an appetizer. They were also pretty bland and reminded me of the 10cent wings that were offered years ago in most bars during Monday night football. Things got even worse when I ordered my main entree. I was craving crab legs and butter. What I received was tiny snow crab legs that when opened had zero meat. The butter sauces were not traditional clarified butter. Instead they serve a butter sauce with way too much garlic and two other sauces that don’t pair well with crab legs and basically had zero taste. Other guests in our party got the po’boy sandwiches which they hated as well. They described their sandwiches as almost to food truck quality. Simply put, it’s high priced, poor quality garbage food coupled with horrible beverages and uncomfortable seating. Overall a horrible experience. The only positive thing was we had a nice waiter. Other than that, this place has a lot of work to do to earn my business in the future. However, I doubt we will ever go back.Update: I did mention the horrible food to the server. I sent my meal back and it was taken off the bill.
The quality of customer service has gone down DRASTICALLY at Baby Duke's Kitchen. I usually enjoy this place and food, but my last experience there was anything BUT enjoyable for my friends and I on Wednesday. The waitress we had was terrible! It was as if she had no interest in serving our table properly from the moment we arrived. From the stale, cold cornbread muffins that she said she'd microwave instead of bringing us fresh, hot muffins, to me practically having to BEG her for drinking straws for our waters, (then she only brought one straw for three glasses of water as if we were supposed to share it amongst the three of us), to her constantly walking off in the middle of taking our order, to her bringing incomplete orders, to her not bringing one of our guest's order AT ALL!Her behavior was so irritating that I just asked for the checked and we left eithout ordering entrees and went to Red Plum. Better food and WAY better customer service! There have now been two occasions in my lifetime where the server was so offensive that I felt the need to leave ZERO tip. Sadly, she earned every bit of it that evening. The only reason for two stars were the catfish nuggets. The only consistent thing about this place so far.UPDATE:My friends talked me into giving this place another chance and I should've gone with my instinct to stay FAR away.. I just can't get past the poor attitudes of the staff, demonstrated right here by the condescending reply from the restaurant on this review. Instead of apologizing for the poor service given and the inability of their server (because they only ever seem to have just the ONE who doubles as the bartender) to multi-task, they choose to be arrogant and proud of the horrible training (or lack of ANY) given to their staff. Since they CLEARLY don't put customer service or seasoning at the forefront of this very BLAND establishment, my advice is to go around the corner to ANY of the other establishments who will be welcoming and friendly to their patrons.Regards,
I visited the restaurant with two friends an was a great experience. Good space, delicious food and fantastic service. Mary is a very good girl.
