We were staying in a nearby town with friends for a weekend getaway and stopped by The Heron for brunch — it was lovely. From the Christmas decorations (which put us all in the holiday spirit) to the kind greeting from the host, the excellent service, and the food and drinks, I highly recommend it. I do suggest making reservations if possible. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 p.m. and were asked if we’d be okay being added to the list for 1:30 p.m. We didn’t mind at all, since the restaurant is on a charming main street with shops, including a small bookstore. That said, if you’re pressed for time, I’d recommend calling ahead. Would absolutely love to visit again in the future!

We heard this place was great but didn’t expect it to be one of our favorite dinners ever. The vegan bowl with Katsu style tofu was amazing. We also loved the catfish and broccolini. Also be sure to get a homemade biscuit with honey butter. The team working there were so nice and welcoming! We will be back very soon!

This restaurant is consistently outstanding in every category. The atmosphere is always lively and bustling, and the staff manages the busy environment with impressive skill. I've never felt overlooked, whether dining alone or with a large group.
The quality of the food and drinks is exceptional and, most importantly, consistent. Everything I have ever ordered has been a 10/10, arriving perfectly prepared and tasting flawless. The dining room, while compact, feels cozy and intimate rather than crowded. The staff is knowledgeable, direct, and clearly passionate about their menu. For the quality of the food and the overall experience, the value is unbeatable.
I highly recommend the following dishes:
The Lemon Chicken Soup
The Burger
The Chicken Pâté
The seasonal Turkey Wings
The Steak Burrito
Avocado Toast
.....just order one of everything

Frankly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This place is a must stop when in the area. Their schedule is limited. Make a rezo!

Very nice little spot. Very friendly service. Would of been 5 stars but they were a little heavy handed with the salt. I would definitely go back

First time last night and the entire experience was spectacular. The service was extremely attentive from beginning to end, the drinks were top shelf and the food was exceptional. Highlights for us was the strip steak au poivre, garlic parm wings apps, the catfish over grits, the cheese jar with toast points and all of the cocktails and wine, red and white. Truly not a single slip, would highly recommend to anyone visiting the UDR.

The best restaurant in this area. Brunch is amazing, dinner is fabulous (esp steak), happy hour is wonderful (burger is the best!) and cocktails are perfect every time. Real heads know!

This place has no consideration and respect for families with children. We came in for a reservation making them very aware children were with us. The host at the front with dark hair and tattoos on her arms is very rude. She wouldn't let us bring in an umbrella stroller and suggested using their high chair or putting a car seat on a tiny bench which is dangerous for a car seat to sit. My son was too young v to sit in high chair. She gave us an attitude about it and as we were trying to figure out how to transfer my son to a car seat she proceeded to ask in a rude manner if she can go sit us now. The car seat caused the person at table next to me and everyone sitting at the bench with us to be cramped with a ton of space where the stroller could have sat. The space in which the host moved the table next to us to make but still refused a stroller go there. The host waited atleast 20-30 minutes after we sat to offer crayons and activity sheet to my 3 year old. Our waitress didn’t even ask for my child’s order or offer a kids menu, I had to ask after she walked away from getting everyone else’s order. On top of all of this inconvenience, my corned beef hash was burnt. Safe to say I will NOT be coming here ever again. Beware don’t come here if you have children clearly they have an issue with that.

Family friendly, great atmosphere, food was delicious and affordable. The small menu is made up for in the taste of the food. Very professional and polite waitresses/waiters.
