I've been at The Heron 5 times over the past 7 years, 3 of them in the past half year. The quality of the food is really good and the portions are large. It's a bit pricey, but they don't skimp. The service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, but a bit cramped since it's very popular. The hours are somewhat limited--it stops serving food by 8 p.m. Reservations are recommended!

This was our first time here. The room is small The atmosphere and decor is very festive, Christmas theme. The ceiling has huge Christmas balls hanging It nicely done. While we did not have a reservation, they were able to accommodate us. What impressed me was with the number of patrons, and music playing, we were able to have a conversation without straining to hear each other. I had the beet salad and throughly enjoyed it. My husband had a tuna sandwich which was also good. It came with a side salad. I would suggest if you go on a weekend to make a reservation. I would go back but perhaps during the week.

Absolutely fantastic! Food is top notch and the dining area has an old school charm. Cheeseburgers are sooo good. I wish I could come back more often but I live abroad.

Quickest review I made.Make that one make sense. So you have room for us at the bar, but can’t serve all the food? Ok. Ludicrous.

I enjoy visiting Narrowsburg and have not had the chance to experience eating at the Herron much to the hype of the locals. I won’t be returning . Here is a bullet point it events :-immature and young staff-my tuna sandwich arrived and there was a long hair embedded in the dressing and foliage-we were basically rushed to finish our meal service and approached by the hostess to ask us if we were finishing our meal as there is another party waiting for our table . My partner responded , “we are done. It’s the staff taking forever to bring the check”-the tuna sandwich with the hair on the side salad was still charged in the bill. When I brought this up to the hostess she asked I brought this up to the waiter. I responded “if there was a hair on a meal at any restaurant , I would expect it to be an automatic service recovery to not charge the customer for the food”.Eat here if you want consistent standards on basics —-but forget taking your time to enjoy with your party and BEWARE the hair on the food which you will have to pay for . Other places to go to that may practice basic of the basic restaurant manners.

Huge fan of the Heron. Went here for dinner with a group of 6 — very friendly wait staff, delicious espresso martinis. The chopped salad is to die for. Recommend splitting the Mac and cheese with the table. Finish your drinks out on the patio w / beautiful view of the river. Will be back!! Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Fantastic brunch spot. Was super crowded for a late brunch and as a walk-in, we had a wait. Well worth the wait, as the food and cocktails were excellent. Brown Derby cocktail paired with Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Great way to spend a Sunday!
