Incredibly disorganized with the pickup counter obscuring most of the doorway. Be prepared to wait almost double the time that is listed when you mobile order. I placed an order and was told 20 minutes, I ended up waiting for over 45 minutes and watched as multiple people who ordered after and also arrived after, get their order first only to be told that my ticket was never printed, despite asking staff 3 times if my order was in progress. Not to mention, staff were on their phones and we watched a girl spend almost half an hour to cut up a sandwich. Seriously? I am questioning the staff's competency at this point. Bagels are fine, yes, are they worth waiting almost an hour for? Hard to say.

We placed an order via text at 10:00am and received verbal confirmation that it would be ready at 10:20am. We arrived 10:10 and received our order at 11:00am.
We asked the staff three times and showed our order information and they kept saying they would work on it.
Do not order via text—it will not be received and they will not prioritize it even when it is 40+ minutes late.

Food was soooooo good, this is so good I love I come all the time. The workers are so sweet I really love this bagel place, worth every penny and dollar I've spent. Fully recommend. Give the workers a raise they deserve it and work so hard.

Celebrated bagel bakers, this part of Nassau county and this stretch of Hillside Avenue, extending into Queens. As regulars, we are in a good place to say they've made their bones (meaning bagels). Of course, iconic artwork, quirky branding, loud messaging, and clutter - as an integral part of their business approach - contributes to the charm.
Take a morning walk around this block of Hillside Avenue and get wrapped in aroma of culinary magic-in-making.
Reasonable selection of bagels {may not be as diverse as leading bakers in NYC} & schmears at hand, they specialize in sandwiches. The bagels are bigger, puffed to perfection; and if you go for sandwich option, be prepared to put your jaws through a pain free, range of motion {Maximum Interincisal Opening} test ☺️.
To make a more detached judgement, we got our bagel snob friend to savor the fare. There also, the verdict was aaahhh, ummm! Everest scaled!
The staff always appears to have a convival spirit. We were well served by David on the last visit; who also did a quick course correction for a flub I did in placing the order.
HR is a takeout-only establishment, located on a 5 store-front strip. To fully realize the real potential of their fare, we hope HR opens bite-in option in the adjacent premises, now (as of 09/2025) papered-up.
Highlight Reel:: Ice cubes in HR cold coffee are frozen from the same brew. Which means, melt does not dilute consistency; experience stays what you walk out with.

Hands down the best bagel store to ever exist. A staple, the only standard of high quality food, service, and atmosphere. Everything from the bagels, to the cream cheese, to the coffee, and most importantly the ownership and team. A must try if you haven't been yet.

Hands down, Hand Rolled is our family favorite! Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. It can get busy at times with a line out the door so that alone speaks in volume. Parking lot located a few stores down along with street parking. A must try if your in the area!!!

Updated review: these people will literally talk about you in front of your face and laugh at you silently amongst themselves. Don’t know why I keep giving them a chance.
Been coming here for years, and for the last many times I have gotten a bagel toasted it’s never toasted. I often started asking for extra toasted but even then, the bagel is cold (even after opening to eat it immediately after I leave the place). Doesn’t make sense to have a COLD non- toasted bagel every single time.
