Had the most disgusting experience just now I almost wanted to cry. My husband and I came up here for the weekend. We called to see if we can come in - their response is as long as it was before 6pm. We showed up at 5:50pm and my husband dropped me off first to see if we could get seated. The lady was so sweet and told us we could but it would be outside. I said perfect. Gave my husband a thumbs up and he went to go park. As I was waiting a young man with black hair and brown eyes came to ask us (all the people that were standing) if they were okay and then he looked at me and I said yes. He asked if I had a reservation and I told him the lady that was just there had a table for us. He said she was new and didn’t know anything and there is no seating. I questioned him again. And he said no there is no seating without reservation - I asked even tho the lady said it was okay and she was getting our seating together? He smiled and said no. I’ve been in the south - like Pensacola South and I remember feeling that racism like I felt then. I was so upset and waiting for my husband to walk in who is white to see what they would say. I was literally the only minority there. The lady came back as my husband walked in and she said “ we have your seat. The man said - “we aren’t doing that” to the lady and she stood there looking shocked. I’m disgusted and nauseated. At this treatment. Thank you for letting me know that I’m not good enough.

What a great place! Highly worth the slightly higher prices. Really quaint location tucked away, and the atmosphere is really fun. Great selection of drinks and food, and they even have a dedicated vegetarian menu if that's preferred.Really glad I checked out this place. Owners are super nice and friendly as well. Highly recommend to any in the area!

We were a party of 10 so our reservation was in one of the upstairs rooms. The service was great and the food was Amazing. I had the braised short ribs it’s a must try. It was very flavorful and so tender it fell off the bone no need for a knife. They also have kids meal items you just have to ask.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free optionsKid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

Everything about this place was amazing! The food is spectacular, the drinks are delicious and everyone we saw working there was very friendly and helpful!We cannot wait to come back and try other dishes.We had very high expectations from what we had heard from family who's been here and they somehow managed to exceed those expectations!
Incredible experience on the back porch on a beautiful spring afternoon! Food and service was incredible and I will definitely be back! Oh and get the Scallops with the risotto, i don’t even like risotto and this place changed my mind!

Weekday lunch at Garvans! Sharp, smart attentive male server. Fresh flowers on the table. Cozy. Many restaurants get lax about their lunches and it irks me to no end but we noticed the effort here to be consistent with service. Our party of 3 loved all of our appetizers, entrees and desserts (Lamb stew, shepherds pie, scallops, crab cakes, potato leek soup, drinks). Just lovely.

unfortunately the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere have all gone downhill here in recent years. the service has always been a bit disorganized, but has not improved and no one seems to care. you might be seated for half an hour before a waiter comes to your table meanwhile the people next to you arrive after and are served first. the food is bland one time you get it and over salted the next, and the most of it is much too oily, not terrible but definitely no longer worth the 'fine dining' prices. I've heard a number of people speak on unsavory experiences with the owner, including in removed reviews, and I can't say I have ever had a welcoming interaction with him which kind of takes away from the homey atmosphere. basically if you don't have a reservation they won't be happy to have you there. overall it seems like the place has just gotten careless which is too bad because its a great space.
