“Visited Garvan’s today for the first time for a late lunch in the Pub. We started with Mexican Street Carrots. So delicious! My husband had the traditional Irish breakfast and I had the lamb stew. Both meals were excellent. Wish we could have had dessert, but we were so stuffed. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. We’re looking forward to visiting again.”

“100% recommend novellas! We just recently celebrated our wedding there and we had the best. Time. They made the entire wedding process so easy for us, with menu items, decor, timelines, everything. You name it, they did it! Bryce, Chloe, and their entire team were so helpful and kind. So willing to step up to plate, and the food was DELICIOUS. Super affordable and convenient as well, and they answered any and every question they had. Our special day was made even better thanks to the wonderful work of their staff and the beautiful scenery of their venue. My guests and family were overjoyed and welcomed happily by all of them, and I’m incredibly grateful! This place has become like family, and we’ll be back as often as we can now because of their professionalism and kind hospitality! Thank you guys!!”

“It’s tucked away down a narrow side street. Understated decor, small and intimate. Avoid wearing big coats and keep your voice down. There’s an outdoor patio as well (weather permitting), if you don’t mind the busier outdoor environment.

I’ve been eating here for over 20 years, and 3 girlfriends. When we say we want Sushi, we mean Hokkaido. My child’s first Sushi meal was here.

It can be very busy on weekends, especially during pleasant weather. I recommend you call ahead. A very large menu too, so, I recommend you study the menu online and have your ideas ready. They’ll help you with suggestions, but that means you’re slowing us all down.

Eating alone, then maybe eat at the bar and enjoy watching the sushi get maid.

I recommend the pan fried gyoza, edamame and string beans. I love the spicy rolls, eel and Monster roll. Take out available. Lots of fans order their food for pick up. But, I don’t like to transport my fresh food.

Had my first warm Sake here. Loved it.

“The owners, James and Michelle, and staff are always welcoming. Great selection of coffee and tea. They'll grind your selection of beans or take em home whole. James' paninis just great. Starbucks has nothing on Mudd except hype. You want good ☕️ and reasonably priced selection of quality products when you need a break Mudd Puddle is worth a drop in.”

“This place has an old-timey feel to it which I love. Prices are fair. Service is too. Selection for ice cream is pretty good. They will have at least one flavour that is non-dairy. I got a hot fudge sundae with cookie dough ice cream.
Seating is limited to a couple of seats towards the entrance.
They accept both cash and card.

Parking: There is parking on Plattekill Ave. Before 6 pm you have to pay. After it's free

Wheelchair accessibility: There is none. You have to use the stairs.”

“Love this place! Big portions, and friendly people. Best soft serve anywhere. They are always rotating flavors of hard ice cream so we come often. The Let's Dough and Mint Cookie Surprise are my favorites and I cant find them anywhere else! Someone posted that they carry Perrys- they do have some Perrys but only flavors you cant buy in grocery stores. I know ice cream and know companies keep exclusive flavors only shops can get.”

“The new owners have stripped away that Main Street bistro memories and atmosphere vibe. Used to love going with all the paraphernalia on the walls. The staff had great energy and the place use to be mobbed either lines out the door . No More. This is what happens when any new own has ideas to change there restaurant to there way. They saying goes, “ if it’s not broke don’t fix it” The new owners have completely remodeled and have taken away that special bistro feeling. I feel they have taken away that feeling for many customers. Keep those staff members, they are the ones whom make that place!! Take into consideration now your food really has to be on point!!”

“Our party of 7 celebrated with a birthday dinner on 2/20/26. So many dishes to choose from. We ordered butter chicken (the best), chicken jalfrezi, mushroom chicken, lamb vindaloo and of course plenty of garlic naan! We had such a wonderful time and the food was amazing. If you are ever in New Paltz, you really need to try this restaurant. You absolutely won't be disappointed”

Eating at New Nelly’s Restaurant II, I’m suddenly not in New Paltz anymore. I’m uptown. I’m in the Bronx… I’m in my fiancée’s tía’s kitchen, getting judged silently for not taking enough rice while pans are going con-con in the background.

We ordered the bistec encebollado with rice and beans, my fiancée went with the pernil, and of course we shared the maduros (because that’s just understood). Everything came out heavy in the right way, seasoned with confidence, no second-guessing… that’s the kind of Dominican food this is. No explanations, no substitutions, no “elevated” nonsense. Just plates that whisper “Qué lo que”… this is familiar flavor territory :)

It’s not fancy. It’s not trying to be, and trying this spot in my new neighborhood was a relief!! Turns out moving to New Paltz doesn’t mean I’m entering a flavor desert. We’re gonna be just fine. KLK. Come bien y no hagas tantas preguntas.”

“We brought a group of 50 people on a bus tour and made the McDonald’s in New Paltz our stop both ways for the weekend. We called ahead on the way down, and the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and impressively fast. All 50 of us received our orders quickly and without a single mistake!

On our way back, we gave them about an hour’s notice, and once again the service was fantastic. The team handled our large group with efficiency and a great attitude. The bathrooms were also very clean, which we truly appreciated!
