I love the chopped salads and friendly helpful employees! Everyone is always so happy at the counter and sometimes it just really makes my day. Definitely get a take out cocktail for later - you won't regret it.
I frequent this place and I'm always so surprised and satisfied. The food is clean eating at its best. The cedar plank salmon salad is a favorite of mine... get the grape dressing. With the chilly weather coming, I've decided to try some of the soups lately. The Italian wedding soup was fabulous and today I tried the Italian sausage and potato soup. The Main Course provided 3 dinners and2 lunches for our group of artists and everything was amazing. They really listened, understood who we were and what we wanted and delivered above and beyond at a good price. We will happily use them again if wet are in the neighborhood.

Main Course Restaurant + Market is a cozy Modern American restaurant and a great find in New Paltz that is always buzzing for a reason. It is fully staffed for fast service and is very convenient, especially for college students, with amazing grab-and-go options. The vibe is cozy and the acoustics are great, with seating at the customers' leisure in the main dining area, at barstools, or on the outdoor patio. The ingredients are extremely fresh and the food is consistently delicious. Specific dishes praised include the panini, the eggplant panini, the potato salad, the beef empanadas, the chocolate bread pudding, and the make-your-own salads with walnut dressing. The pomegranite limeade is also noted as refreshing. Portions are huge and full-meal portions for a good price, though some note the food prices can be outrageously expensive. The staff is efficient, though not particularly conversational. With no waiting staff, customers get their own cutlery and do their own clean-up picnic style. It is considered the best place in town and a must-go spot for both food and seating.
