“My son and I stopped here to grab a bite to eat before heading to the Rosendale Theatre for a movie. My son had a burger, which he said was delicious and I had the smoked brisket tacos, which were also delicious! They had some drink specials so I decided to try their Mint Margarita and it was yummy! The place is small with a large bar and several booths to sit in. The waitress was very nice, but since she was servicing the entire place by herself, the service was a little slow.”
“Great place for a bite. I've had lunch here before. Today was just drinks and a quick bite. Green fried tomatoes done nicely. We also had wings with a sweet chili glaze. They were yummy. Sweet with a nice spice but not too hot. A cucumber mohito hit the spot. We need to come back again to try more specialties. It was so good that I forgot to take photos.”
“The best food around. Nice people. Clean place. A month ago still no wrapped utensils . They are supposed to be wrapped. Other places do the same thing. I don’t like utensils that have already been touched by who knows who.”
“Milkshakes, burgers, and beers! The burger was quite tasty. I got a boozy milkshake and I enjoyed it a lot. They have a small parking lot in the back. They have a back patio, it was not open when we went but it was cute.Parking: Maybe 20 spotsWheelchair accessibility: One wheelchair parking spot. But the door into the building was not wheelchair accessible nor was the bathrooms.”
“Wonderful, welcoming, & scrumptious! Always a joy for the senses!!!! 10 Stars !!! ? Eating & playing by the fire, a joy! #Perfect for #wholefamilyKid-friendliness: Ourside seating, porch seating, inside seating. Some evenings a week she has a buffet selection for a menu. Call ahead to ask about specials and reserve your preferred seating. Desserts???? Wow!!!! Like a museum of how to! And truly an exquisite treats that i dont comprehend how they're made ??? #PaceYourselves ! #FoodHeaven”
“Store was very clean and the service was very good, definitely would recommend this place. I was a little disappointed to find that they do not participate in coupons , other than that overall experience was good.”
“Perfectly good pizza. My local pizza place. They sometimes send out mailers with coupons to make it more affordable. I am a little spooked that Google just asked me for this review because they noticed I call this place one week ago! I guess I will store the number and dial rather than hit the number provided in a Google search, now that I know they are capturing that particular bit of info. Hello big brother!!!”
“The food was amazing! I had the egg sandwich on an olive mini focaccia made the "house" way, with mustard and NY cheddar cheese --it was DELICIOUS! I also recommend the chia latte. On top of the food being delicious, Essell the chef and owner has create such a fun and welcoming environment. My friends and I ate our breakfast and stayed in the bakery of nearly 3 hours conversing in conversation with Essell and other members of the community that stopped in. Truly so such a fun experience and we felt very welcomed into the Rosendale community! Thank you all!”
“We're hanging out at the dive bar down the road and the bartender there recommended we come here for some good drinks. And my oh my were they good. I never believed in the science of mixology or that a mixologist was a skilled tradesmen. But the old man who made our drinks must have been the Gordon Ramsey of Bartending. Your average bartender is a frycook by comparison. I had a few of their signature cocktails as well as a Manhatten and an old fashioned; my go-to drink so I've had a lot of them from a lot of different places, and never in my decades of life have I tasted such a perfectly mixed old fashioned. It was sublime and I doubt I'll taste its equal again in this lifetime unless I find myself in Kingston again and this man happens to be behind the bar once more. He also whipped up some scratch-made eggnog with alcohol and it was exquisite.”
“Want a great wine list (without an hour-long wait for a seat)? Come here. Want a yummy little snack with your wine? Even better! I wouldn't call Sonder a hidden gem, but perhaps an undersung highlight of Kingston in general and midtown in particular.”
“Wow - a truly wonderful surprise in Highland! My brother and I stopped by for dinner recently and were blown away by how good this place is. We ordered a phenomenal sizzling fish and pork over rice, both were delicious. The owner is also wonderful and welcoming - it feels like having dinner with family. Whether you live nearby or are just passing through the area, Hapag is really worth stopping by for a special and delicious meal. Apparently they'll also do a special platter style shared dinner if you have a party larger than 5 - hopefully we'll get to try that someday!”
“We ordered six courses from the menu, between entrance & main course. Food was quite tasty & very delicious but their dishes are not visually stunning. The service was great. However I would prefer if they have live music, would be more fun for having a good time & stay longer.Definitely one of my go to spot in Hudson Valley.”
“Got a couple of egg and cheese sandwiches on our way out of town. They took a few minutes because they really are made to order, but service was excellent. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious, and we picked up a loaf of the chocolate babka to take home. Also grabbed some frozen pierogi, which meant we didn't have to wait for the shop around the corner to open.”
“This place has a classic American tavern feel. There is bar seating and table seating. There are a couple of sections (a big back section which is where our group of 11 was seated). Food was delicious and they had a couple of options - bar snacks, appetizers, salads/soup, mains. The price of main entrees run from $20-$30. Service was also great.”
“Excellent service, best Caribbean in the area. Taking away one star, because there have been a Couple of times where the Oxtail has been really fatty pieces. Maybe some like it that way, but not ideal for me.”
“Easy, comfy, good food. Plenty of locals there so you know it's good. Good prices. Not fancy, but a great place for pleasant, relaxed dinner.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely”
“From the service , to the deck overlooking the river and the awesome food all was fantastic !! Crawfish yummmmm duck and corn wonton yummm and beet salad yumm yumm”
“We stopped in while on a road trip from Delaware to Montreal. What a cool little place! It's a combination tea/coffee place. The person who helped us could not have been nicer. I had the Maple Rosemary Latte which was amazing! We would certainly frequent this place if we lived in the area. Check it out!”
“This is not your average old school Hudson valley ice cream shop. They take care of you like they are, but they have a modern looking building and menu and great customer service. I’m on a keto diet so I got a burger and hot dog without buns. They might not look enticing from the pictures but they were great and fit right into my diet.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my keto requests no problem. They even wrapped my burger in lettuce for me.”
“Best bookstore in Kingston! I'm not a coffee drinker but I do love their hot chocolate. I order the same thing every time I stop by ( Small hot chocolate and a cookie) .This place is super cozy with an awesome selection of books. If you can find a seat on a less busy day your in luck! It's a chill place to meet up with friends or get some work done. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If your new to Kingston definitely check it out it's one of a kind.”
“Love my experience every single time I come to we got the juice. Atmosphere is always top notch! Sandwiches are delicious and juices are the best! Please stop in and get yourself a juice or sandwich for lunch you won't be disappointed!”
“If you are looking for a Great sandwich for a more then reasonable price, you have found your place. The sandwich selection is full of great options, and you won't be disappointed. The Cuban has been my go-to for a quick weekend lunch option. The staff is attentive and friendly, and one gentlemen calls me young man, even though I am sure that I am older then him which leads me to an extensional crisis while I eat my Cuban. I hope that this joint can survive in our sweet little town full of Teeny boppers and hopeless hipsters. Do yourself a favor and grab a sandwich from this place before our only option is a mutant meat sandwich from Amazon grown in a laboratory for 2$ a month for eternity.”
“Laid back atmosphere with good music and a good selection of brews. I went on $5 draft Monday and that is a great value. Got the Kaaterskill IPA and the red IPA (can't remember the name), sampled the Juniper Ridge and ended up leaving with a 4 pack of it. Many restaurants within walking distance as well so you don't have to go far to get a good meal after your visit”
“Truly a great dining experience, great service, great food, great atmosphere. My 9 and 8 year old finished everything on their plate w/o complaint (salmon and weiner schnitzel). Worth the ”
“Exactly right! Ate delicious, interesting food in a beautiful space with excellent service. Don't be fooled by the ubiquitousness of flourless chocolate cake; it was done perfectly. Thank you, Clare and the Runa team!”
“really good restaurant in an area where these are a few and far between. The chef balances, creativity, seasonality, and good straightforward, cooking to create a range of compelling menu items, so much so that it is hard to pick. There is a large and inviting hearth in the kitchen, so we try to choose dishes that were fire kissed. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the drinks list has everything you need including a lot of well selected and clean Wines.”
“We were traveling through on New Year’s Day and looking for coffee. Found this great place open. Warm inviting and what we all need in my opinion. It was a welcome treat to find books on the very topics that had been circling my mind for the last few months right there on the shelves. No judgment just information to help you stay on track and want more. Thank you for opening a place like this. And in such a beautiful spot for discovery. Happy 2024 and keep it up!”
“I should not have chosen a pasta dish - it is clearly not there forté.I'll be back to try sonething else.Parking: Prepare to spend some quality time in your car as you search for parking.”
“This place is great and I can't recommend it enough. Not only is the quality of food amazing but the staff and service have always been extremely friendly, welcoming with a non-pretentious attitude. This place is accesible for local Kingston residents, unlike some of the gentrification cafes that have popped up in recent years that cater strictly to tourists or recent, wealthy transplants. The prices here are actually fair- like it doesn't cost $12 for a breakfast sandwich with no meat on it- fair. Very clean and like I said, high quality taste in food. I always get a breakfast sandwich but their lunch options are great too. There is no better place to get a breakfast sandwich in Kingston. I love Fat Cat !”
“Awesome food - I don’t come here enough and I need to change that. Little oasis outside in the back that is worth sitting outside and watching the coy pond. Food is authentic and made with heart. The inside atmosphere is a little weird but food makes up for ”
