I am always nervous trying new places but a craving for butter chicken couldn’t keep me away. I rolled the dice and boy am I glad that I did! Their butter chicken is phenomenal, albeit on the pricy side. It’s certainly going to be my go-to spot for that. Also tried chicken 65 which was good, but lacked spice — a bit of a kick was missing. Not sure if spice level can be modified but offering options would be great. In a similar vein, the samosas were also top notch but a bit bland in terms of spice. If you are pondering over trying this place, you should definitely give it a go. It’s not going to disappoint.

Had a bad experience here. When I placed an order for two, I was told it would take 40 mins and that they would call me. I did not receive that call. When I showed up at the restaurant after an hour, they still had not prepared the food, asking to wait 15 more mins with not even one dish prepared! Eventually, I had to cancel my order and go elsewhere to eat.

The restaurant didn’t have our order ready even after making us wait for 1+ hours on a cold day when we’re hungry. Not a pleasant experience when you have the place is takeout only and you’ve to wait out in the cold! At the time of order the restaurant said they’ll call us in 45 mins but after waiting an additional 20 mins, they wanted more “10-15 mins”. 0 stars for service!

We ordered a bunch of things for a lazy Saturday brunch. Shirley’s India got incredibly popular after a few social media posts went viral and is super popular among New York food reviewers. This place is takeout only and the folks at the counter are super considerate and kept giving all of us waiting updates about our order. The beef fry was a little too dry, the chicken 65 was good but nothing to sing too many praises about. The butter chicken empanadas were truly unique and was the highlight. The Nutella samosa was well sweet.Overall, the food was okay and is definitely worth trying for the hype it created among food influencers.

Tried the shirley fries and chicken tikka wrap. The fries were stale and tasted horrible. The wrap was oily and lacked an appetizing flavor. If you’ve had desi food in nyc or nj then this place will be a waste…for everyone else, have

I've passed by this place a dozen times and never thought to check them out. What a mistake! I ordered food (to go only) for my son and I - Butter Chicken, Butter Chicken Empanadas, Chili Chicken Taquitos, Saag Paneer and Garlic Naan - and was blown away by the freshness and layers of flavor. Can't wait to try more dishes from their menu. Definitely a keeper.

Don’t order from here !! I don’t even know where to start..I’ve been to Shirley’s a handful of times and the food has been really good. However, after some time my husband and I had a craving for Indian food. My husband decided to place an order worth $100+ of food. He ordered naan to go with all the curry dishes. When he arrived home, I started going through the containers of food that he spent 40 minutes waiting on..what I found was “PITA BREAD”, no naan. I immediately called Shirley’s up on the phone and asked them why we got that instead. The man on the phone boldly lied and said “Ma’am what you got was naan that’s what it looks like”. To my dismay, I told him I was Indian and I know the difference. He then told me to wait on the line then he hung up. I called back 3 times and then he picked up and told me he’s sorry the “naan” must be from a new company. Even more upset, I asked him in a calm tone, “don’t you make food fresh, you told my husband to wait 40 minutes.” We hung up and my husband, without hesitation, went to return all the pita bread. He was met with a new guy at the window, who then took the pita to the back, returned and then said “I’m sorry the guy that usually makes the naan is out sick” that’s why you got that. Why not be honest and tell customers they are out of something??? Instead, you give them something else to fool them? My husband is white so he thought he could fool him. Besides all this, the chicken tikka masala was very tough and wasn’t fresh and the paneer was very hard in my Saag ..The food has gone downhill. You just lost a customer!! Do the right thing as a business!!! It’s one thing to lie but to trick customers is another!! Won’t be returning…

I would order the whole menu if I could! Food was amazing! Already thinking about going back and I was just there last night. The prices are what got me intrigued at first and the place I use to order from has changed their prices drastically! After trying their food me and my boyfriend are hooked will be back soon.

Walking up to the place you just smell the spices in the air, caught off guard with the window where you order but it’s unique. Scanned the QR code for the menu, decided on chicken tikka masala and a mango lassi. Rang the bell to order and someone came within seconds, the guy told me it would be 5 minutes and it indeed took 5 minutes. The service was impeccable and the food was packaged perfectly. Walked back home and the food was a good portion size, hot and delicious. Perfect seasoning and the drink was absolutely delicious, thick and creamy. Highly recommend this spot, nothing bad to say.
