Really good matcha! Takes long time cause they make individual cups for you. But worth the wait

The matcha color was so vibrant. Totally worth the hype. Matcha latte was too good.

I recently stopped by 12 Matcha and really enjoyed my visit overall. I ordered a both flavors of the cheesecake (matcha & hojicha) and a hot latte both of which were excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxing — definitely a great place to unwind.

However, during my visit, an older woman named (I believe) Linda started talking to me. At first, she was very pleasant and mentioned that she’s been a regular since the shop first opened. Unfortunately, the conversation took a turn when she began making inappropriate comments about how she feels “Black” employees treat her compared to “Asian or white” staff. It was uncomfortable and quite jarring to hear, especially in such a nice environment.

I wanted to mention this so the staff and management are aware, since it sounds like she’s a frequent customer. Aside from that incident, I had a lovely time and would still recommend 12 Matcha for their great food and drinks.

I absolutely loved this spot! The wait was totally worth it for the fresh, high-quality matcha — you can really taste how carefully it’s made. The drinks were smooth, earthy, and beautifully presented. The vibe inside is calm and minimalist, which makes the whole experience feel extra special.

I wasn’t a big fan of the hojicha Basque cheesecake — it looked great but didn’t quite hit the same level as the matcha drinks. Still, everything else more than made up for it. Definitely worth the visit if you’re a matcha lover!

everything was phenomenal — we got iced matcha lattes, 3 scoops ice cream (matcha, hojicha, panna), and a hojicha cheesecake

matcha latte and matcha ice cream was actually incredible and everything else was extremely good. vibes are insane too

came here at around 1 on a tuesday and the wait was less than 20 minutes. line has been insane on weekends (i’ve only walked by many times) not necessarily sure it’s worth waiting an hour+ for but would highly recommend if you can come by on a weekday

From the long line/wait, I had higher expectations of the matcha. If you want a cute aesthetic or if you’re an influencer looking to capture content, then I suppose this is the place for you. However, the hype and matcha are overrated in my opinion.

12 matcha is the hottest matcha cafe in nyc right now. people will be lining up to this day, including me 🫶🏻

i went on a rainy Saturday at noon, waited around 20min to get inside then 10min to order. there are 3 baristas whisking matcha right in front of you. so it took awhile to get your drink (~5-10min).

my fav thing is they do not hold back on matcha powder. 5.9g of 🍵 powder is being whisked on the spot.

matcha latte ($7)—the microfoam is thick and on point. i tasted faint nutty note but nothing really stands out. i honestly prefer kettl.
hojicha ice cream ($5)—it is really creamy and chocolatey. a tad bit too sweet for my liking but not too bad.

they have wifi, restroom, 2 stories and quite a lot of tables. if there was no line, it would be a good spot to hang out in noho.

I absolutely love 12 Matcha! I tried their matcha ice cream and latte both were so smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The shop has such a calm, minimalist vibe, and the staff were really kind and helpful. A must-visit for matcha lovers!

tely worth the wait! The line at 12 Matcha in New York was a bit long, but once you get inside, you’ll see why.

The matcha-making process is a full experience. You can watch as they carefully measure out the matcha powder and add just the right amount of water with incredible precision.

It’s easily the best matcha I’ve ever had. Smooth, rich, and not overly sweet like many other places. You can really taste the quality of the matcha itself, which is clearly the focus here.

There’s also a cozy downstairs seating area that’s perfect for enjoying your drink in peace. Highly recommend for any matcha lover!

This is serious Matcha...it's practically made in front of you, ceremonial like. The color is super green, taste is amazing. It's similar to high grade matcha I've had in Tokyo.

Location is well designed and has a great vibe. They have lower level with additional seating. They have a small selection of pastries that looked amazing. Staff is also very friendly, so if you like Matcha it's a no brainer.

If you’re on a line please learn how to stand in it. Don’t block the whole side walk or the staircase. Lines exist in other countries so don’t plead ignorance.

I really enjoyed my experience here. It was a very clean, calming, modern space and the presentation of drinks and food fit so well with the atmosphere. I would only go again if I knew I was able to get a seat and savor my drink . The matcha is just what you expect, nothing mind blowing but the presentation and atmosphere make the experience better. The matcha basque tastes more cheesy than matcha so I won’t be getting that again. Maybe I’ll try hojicha next time. The matcha drinks are also quite strong just fyi if you are sensitive to caffeine you will def feel a jolt.
