I’ve been coming to 5ive Spice for about four years now, and the short rib pho is hands-down my go-to. It hits every time—super comforting, super tasty. I always tell friends to try it when they’re on the hunt for good pho.

I stopped by 5ive Spice Pho Spot in Nolita and was immediately impressed by the warm, welcoming vibe. There were so many great options on the menu that I honestly couldn’t decide—but Melanie came to the rescue! She was super kind, patient, and genuinely helpful in guiding me toward the lemongrass pho, and wow, she nailed it.
The broth was rich and fragrant with just the right kick of citrusy lemongrass, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. You can really tell they care about flavor and balance here. I left feeling completely satisfied and already thinking about my next visit.

My husband and I had an exceptional experience eating at 5 Spice Nolita and Melanie was our wonderful host. Food was delicious (Beef Pho, Vietnamese tacos and shrimp chips and salsa). Authentic favors in a very modern eclectic environment. Thanks Melanie!!!

The food was ok. I found it too sweet compared to the authentic Vietnamese food. The service was just atrocious. Ordered Vietnamese coffee. The waitress looked at me very confused. Finally said only ice coffee was available. I said it’s fine. She never brought it even though the restaurant was empty and the staff literally stood there doing nothing. One of the to go order was wrong. I ordered Bo Luc Lac I got some shrimp dish instead. I think she grabbed a wrong take out order without checking it. They charged me for the beef and it was about $5 difference but I decided not to call to complain since it’s not worth my valuable time. Is it really that difficult to take for order for only 4 items? She got two wrong out of four orders. Not going back there again.

You really can’t go wrong dining here. The food was consistently solid, and the service was more than acceptable. I also loved the overall vibe—it felt inviting and thoughtfully curated.
The menu had a unique Vietnamese twist. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a bánh xèo taco before, so that alone made the experience memorable. That said, while it was definitely tasty, I’m not sure I’d return just for that specific dish.
One fun touch: the secret passage to the bathroom was a cool surprise. But sitting right in front of the bathroom door? Not the most pleasant spot.
The flavors here are always on point and the service is consistently excellent. Pho is great in the winter and banh mi/vermicelli in the summer. Our favorites are the shaking beef, brisket, and short rib.
We always get the fried spring rolls as an appetizer, which are amazing wrapped in lettuce with pickled vegetables and dipped in the fish sauce.
We go to the Brooklyn location regularly since it's closer to where we live, but this one's still a noticeable step up. My wife always loves the music too!

It took a while for someone to come to our table, and the staff didn’t seem very friendly or helpful. The food was just okay — not bad, but nothing special either. I was kinda expecting more because of how nice the place looked. Overall, it’s not terrible, but I wouldn’t rush back.
