Easily my #1 go-to neighborhood bar. There are different vibes and crowds at different days/times, but the stand out for me is the set of regulars and interesting characters that come through in the afternoon. The mix of wizened, wild, and weird is so much about what I love about the East Village and you really never know what you're going to get when you strike up a conversation at 7B. There's only a handful of places like this left in the city and very few with as much history.

Good spot to sober up quick. Walk in and place reeks of chunder. Wait at the bar for 30 minutes and not get served. Finally outright ask for a drink and get told “maybe in a few minutes”

Used to be a regular patron of this place, but after observing something today I don’t think I’m coming back and definitely not willing to spend money here. There is currently a group of refugees in line for some food down the block, it’s raining and the bar turned their outdoor heaters off on purpose to make these vulnerable people cold. We asked them to turn them back on and got some really ignorant comments back that rang with uppity discrimination.Shame shame shame on you, your establishment makes a significant amount from film shoots (I’ve been location manager a few times on those shoots) - yet humanity isn’t something this place can afford. Hospitality and humanity go hand in hand. Alas, farewell b!gots.

Always stop in there when visiting NYC, had a blast and the bartenders were great. Got pretty busy as the night went on but the bar staff kept up. Rumor is Paul Giamatti stops in there sometimes.

Comfortable, low key divey bar with local charm! Decent prices for drinks and kind staff…. The bouncers might be grumpy though..

Great, reliable alphabet city bar with great regulars & the best bartenders. Decent music. Plenty of tv's for watching sports. Genesee & Yuengling on draft. Right across the street from Tompkins Square Park.

Man Horseshoe. This place sucks but is an institution. It's a classic neighbourhood bar that's filled with locals, college kids, and the occasional Netflix and Soprano's tourist. It's always filled and the drinks are affordable. Don't be a dick and you'll have a fine time. Don't block the hallways and you'll have a fun time. Definitely bring cash, it can take a while to close out. I moan and groan whenever someone suggest 7B. But that's more to deal with the fact I've been going there for the past 15 years now. If you're not familiar with it, worth a stop in. You may fall in love or just appreciate one of the few places left that feels like real NYC. They card everyone at the door -- so don't forget it and don't be a jerk about it.

Please don't waste your time/money here. The staff is atrocious and beyond rude. I came in with a few friends and while we were deciding on a pitcher to buy, the bouncer asked us to leave because we were 'stealing their electricity' (my friend was using a portable charger). When we tried to clarify, they demanded we leave. Truly a bizarre experience, especially because I'd been there many times prior.

I went here for my 28th birthday with friends and it was a blast. I highly recommend this place if you love dive bars. Cheap drinks and they serve PBR and Miller High Life.

Bartender knows a brown ale from a pale ale. Stout from larger. Loud and busy but never waited on beer. Good beer selection.
