Great service. Food was good but could have been served hotter, including lamb kebabs and octopus. Dips were delicious!!And bread too!
Always a great experience. Friendly but classy service. Excellent selection of food and wine - always something new, but always the reliable staples of my A La Turka experience available too. Terrific ambiance. Last evening the windows were wide open and it was like eating outdoors but also indoors - the best of both worlds! Accidentally dropped the menu out the window and in perfect NY style, the next passerby just picked it up and handed it back up to me. Thanks, stranger! This is a treasured neighborhood spot, but worth traveling uptown or across town for. Every time I eat there I wonder why I don't come here once a week. I love it here.
Energetic vibe with a great selection on the menu that typifies Turkish fare, a taste that gently surpasses expectation, and superior service. Highly recommend.
Wonderful food. Enjoyed many appetizers, such as hummus and fried calamari. The mains were plentiful and delicious. We tried the salmon and chicken kebabs; took home half the dish. Look forward to returning.
Vibes abysmal, decides when to end brunch on their time because there's no hours on their website, management is rude, gives us misleading information. The front desk reception and management can't even agree on when to serve food and made no attempt to re-arrange or accommodate us. These people suck.
Good food but I'll never return. I've been to A La Turka multiple times and the food is always delicious. When I saw they were participating in Restaurant Week and they had a great menu, we booked a table. When we arrived, we had to request the menu for Restaurant Week and they did everything in their power to get us out at lightning speed -- from trying to take my food before I was done eating, removing my wine glass before it was empty, never checking on us and giving us the smallest piece of baklava imaginable for dessert. No one forced A La Turka to participate in Restaurant Week and the whole point is to bring in new diners. Far better to sit it out than begrudgingly offer it because they actually accomplished exactly the opposite. Disappointing in every way possible.
My favorite Upper East side restaurant. The zucchini pancakes as an appetizer are my number one suggestion.
We sat outside at the side street tables. It was lovely and quiet. The service was so kind attentive and well related. Made us feel welcome and appreciated. The food was delicious and decently priced. My glass of wine was not good but they took it back without a problem or charge We will surely be back again especially in the good weather since indoors seems a little too lively and noisy for us somewhat hard of hearing elders.
Amazing from start to finish. Drinks delicious. (Forget me yes) kale salad wonderful. Grilled shrimp - excellent . Lamb shank wrapped in eggplant - fabulous. Finished with Turkish coffee (we has no room for dessert 😢😢 Our server Adem was above and beyond any level of expectation and I'd request him on our next visit - he was sensational.
the place is really nice, relaxing ambiance, visually inviting and fun. Great variety of menu options as well as fun special cocktails. servers were attentive to our needs and politely responded to all our questions. everything tasted fresh and delicious.

Authentic and absolutely delicious! Meats cooked to perfection! Apps & Salads so flavorful! Festive atmosphere for our Anniversary!!! Loved it!
While the food is very good, every time I go, the plate changes with things being eliminated...there used to be a bit of salad and pickled onions which accompanied the entree and both have disappeared off the plate, one by one.. they were nice accompaniments to the entree... now it's just meat and a slice of an u see roasted tomato. Also last nights waiter was inattentive and rushed us to take our order. I would have had a second glass of wine but he never returned to check in. Also, he did not present the restaurant week menu... I had to ask for it and the request was not met politely.
This is a lovely restaurant with a wide selection of dips and mains. The lamb chops were amazing! We reserved for 9:00 pm and at that time (only 1/4 full) the restaurant was only moderately noisy. I think if it were full, it might be quite noisy but there is outside seating. The food is really well prepared and our server was delightful, attentive but not overly so. We're definitely going back!
The host and all the servers gave us outstanding service and attention. We live across the street and this will be our regular place from now on.
The restaurant, the service and the foods were great, except that the portion of mixed grilled (and the rice) was not big. I will come back and try other dishes for sure.
