Located in the center of the Upper East side, A La Turka is a hidden gastronomic treasure. You enter and are immediately taken to a world of delectable flavors and kind friendliness. Soft lighting, colorful décor, and the calming sounds of Turkish music fill the room as you walk in, creating an atmosphere that combines traditional Turkish charm and modern elegance. A La Turka's menu showcases the best of Turkish food preparations. Made with the finest ingredients and genuine spices, every meal is a work of art. The mezze platter is a great place to start your culinary adventure because it comes with a variety of flavor-filled mini plates like hummus, babaganoush, and stuffed grape leaves. Your taste buds are enticed by the tastes as they dance across your palate, leaving you wanting more. Savor the delicious lamb kebabs or the delicate chicken adana, which are served with fluffy rice pilaf and grilled veggies, as the main course. There are also lots of vegetarian options that highlight the richness of Turkish cuisine, such as the velvety eggplant moussaka or the robust vegetable stew. A La Turka's delicious sweets are a must-try after every dinner. Every sweet delicacy, from the delicate rice pudding flavored with aromatic spices to the thick and velvety baklava, is the ideal way to round off your meal. But the flawless service at A La Turka is what really makes it stand out. The staff is friendly and well-informed; they will take genuine pleasure in showing you around the menu and making sure that every part of your dining experience is above and above your expectations. Turkey's bright flavors come to life at A La Turka, a culinary haven. Whether you're looking for a special occasion to celebrate with friends and family or a romantic supper for two, A La Turka guarantees an amazing dining experience that will entice you to return.

Excellent Turkish food in a fun, lively, friendly and elegant environment. I love everything about this restaurant from the food, to the drinks, to the beautiful atmosphere and the friendly and attentive staff. They also have a bar where you can sit and order drinks. I had Efes which is very good Turkish beer. I'll be coming back when I am in the area again!

Had a reservation, made us wait an hour after our reservation before we could actually sit and order. They made no efforts to remedy the situation. Food was good, but not good enough to be waiting an hour after our reservation, just to be seated. Would not go again.

We stumbled upon this gem for bottomless brunch on a busy Saturday morning and boy, were we in for a treat! Somehow luck was on our side, and we snagged a table for four without any hassle. Let me tell you, the drinks were the stars of the show! From refreshing white sangria to bubbly Bellinis and classic mimosas, they had us covered. And the best part? They nailed the perfect balance of booze in every sip! Bottom line: This place knows how to brunch right! Cheers to good drinks and great times!

I did not like the service. Since we got in the waitress Esra wasn’t pleasant and frown like she doesn’t want to serve us. I put my tip for the service then the manager of the place came and asking did you like the food? We answered yes and I didn’t mention about the unpleasant service because I didn’t want someone gets hurt. Then the manager was asking to put extra tip and saying can you put at least 18% tip? She really embarrassed me in front of my friends. I was feeling underestimated and the whole staff looking at me like I’m guilty. This really not professional and disrespectful. I went to many restaurants and I never had anything like this. I tip very well when I like the service but when the service unpleasant, why I put a big tip if I got bad service? I did put decent tip for the service that I got. I’m really disappointed and offended.

Two stars for the good food and friendly wait staff! However, our dinner experience was ruined by awful management and disappointing dinner service. Despite promptly ordering drinks, they arrived late into our main course due to bartender issues. Despite requesting to cancel them way before we got them, they arrived interrupting our main course anyway, and the manager refused to accept their return because "they were already made!". Instead, we were offered a complimentary dessert, which we declined, yet it was still brought to our table. The most frustrating part was the absence of direct managerial involvement in addressing the situation. Rather than personally explaining or apologizing, he/she sent multiple wait staff to apologize throughout the evening.

We dined here for lunch. We ordered the lamb kebab and vegetable casserole. Both were very fresh, flavorful and very hot (temp). Attentive and pleasant staff. Good amount of patrons so it is a popular spot.

I am a lamb shank enthusiast. I tried it here at A la Turka three times. The first time I tried it I was pleased. On the second and third times the lamb shank ($32) was overcooked, having little to no flavor. The presentation was great with an abundance of different colored cooked vegetables, accompanying the lamb shank in a tomato sauce, rice was on the side. The lamb shank dish makes for a colorful picture, but the flavor was not there.

We went for the $24.95 lunch. You have to ask to ask for it, otherwise they give you the higher-priced dinner menu, which is not nice. The food is very good. Salad tasted very fresh, hummus and babaganoush appetizers were delicious. Bread was spectacular. One disturbing note: The waiter added a $9.50 bottle of water to our bill and immediately removed it when we said we didn't have it or order it. Check your bill carefully.

This was our second visit and it was excellent again. The feta cigars are amazing as was the main course yogurt kabobs. The service is pleasant and efficient. This restaurant is a keeper!

I have not had Turkish food in quite a while and this place did not disappoint. The liver was very good. The mixed grill (lamb shish, chicken chop, lamb iskander, kofta) was excellent. The kunife and kazandibi was very good. Will definitely eat there again.

I dined at A la Turka on February 1st and again on February 3rd but, today February 18th, even though those bookings are listed as "reservation completed," I still have not gotten the points due me.
