trash. thrown right in the garbage 5 minutes after opening. there was no seasoning on the chicken, i asked for cotija cheese & got string cheese, asked for sour cream & only the pico had it. just overall wrong. $15 down the drain.

I’ll stick to taco mix down the block.

Food has always smelled good so i tried. Food was ok.. steak was good. Rice was bland too much lettuce which was wilted.. honestly not sure if I’ll try again

If I could give more stars, I would.

My husband and I came to Abastos on Christmas Eve at 12:30am looking to grab ingredients to make tamales (for the first time without my abuela). Abastos helped us get what we needed, and when we asked if he knew somewhere that could sell us a pot to steam them in, he told me he’d find one and took down my phone number.

The next day, Abastos reached out to me. In less than 12 hours, he got several different pots to his store that I was able to choose from. He went above and beyond my expectations and I am forever grateful for his kindness.

I will absolutely be going back often and encourage others to support this business. Merry Christmas.

I eat here way too much 🥲 authentic and generous portion sizes for the price. And everyone is so nice, from the cooks to the store clerks

Very friendly staff. A chef came up to me and recommend the tacos suadero, they were 3 for $10. SOOOOO WORTH IT. They are amazing

The products are good, little expensive, but it's okay, but the staff who works there are too arrogant. Especially the little one whos @ the counter.

Fantastically balanced Mexican street food. The meat is salted very well, I suspect by doing a slight cure on the meat -- leaving the meat in salt for minutes to hours before cooking. The salsas have great bite without being too spicy. The thicker masa bases of the huarache and the sopes are good, albeit a bit too hard to cut through.

Really good, definitely a classic street food staple.

I recently stumbled upon a taco spot in Harlem that pleasantly surprised me with its excellent tacos and accommodating service for my vegetarian diet. As someone who frequently visits Mexico, I found the flavors here very authentic. The staff was attentive and even offered to adapt the menu to my veggie diet. They also make their own tortillas by hand which was a plus and super fresh. I’ll definitely be returning for more.

Abastos is the best Mexican store in east Harlem! Absolutely love the Mexican treats they have inside from drinks to candy as well as the friendliest staff! But the food is unmatched, an amazing price, fantastic quality and a delicious menu. My favourites are the Picadas with Cecina and the tostadas with chicken. You have to try!!
