This is by far the best bagel place in NYC — we always get their lox sandwich with egg bagels, scallion tofutti, lettuce, tomato and onion.Though we love their bagels, they only accept cash. Yesterday, the cashier made a mistake in charging us more and she didn’t even apologize to us. Moreover, the change in coins we’ve gotten was incorrect. Paying only in cash is so outdated, insanitary — especially because you have to use both of your hands to eat bagels — and is extremely inconvenient. I sincerely wish they could update their system and start accepting credit cards!

The food is good, but not great. The service is always offensively rude. The place old and funky. I think this place is famous for being famous.

amazing bagels. so so fresh. we got here early (for a saturday) and the line was about 20 mins long. worth the wait for a bagel fresh out of the oven. piping hot sesame with tofu lox cream cheese was perfection. perfect crunch on the crust and warm and doughy on the inside. sweeter doughy than other locations adding to the uniqueness. cash only so come prepared.

Great food but would be nice with a possibility to sit down

I love their bagels and it's my top choice and has been for years. But I've got to ask; what's with the need for food coloring? The egg bagels look like they could be called turmeric and the pumpernickel renamed Coal Tar. You already make the best. No one needs that part.

Went on a Saturday 10.30am and queued for about ~20 min but was absolutely worth it! Had a sesame bagel that was crunchy on the outside, one of the best I've had and at very reasonable prices (see photo) !

There's usually a really long line for this place, so I had high hopes for it. The prices are low and there's a wide variety of options, but I found the bagel itself is just okay and not really worth the wait. If you do go, be it for the cheap price or the very attentive and fast staff, be prepared for a bit of a wait, and they're cash only so make sure you bring a wallet! (I didn't realize the first time I went). I do recommend the cranberry Thai tea, though, and if you can catch it on a day or time with no line it's a decent cheap spot for when you just need a bagel.

Delicious bagels! Went there on a Sunday morning ~11AM and pleasantly surprised that the line wasn't too long. Waited for around 10mins and staff were super efficient. Ordered a whole wheat everything bagel (untoasted) which was super fluffy on the inside and had a nice crunchy exterior. Garlic and chive tofutti was also flavorsome and uber generous with the serving size :) Will be back if I'm ever in the UWS!
