Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service, and really excellent food. Avocado salad was one of the best salads I've ever eaten, and the veggie combo plate was very tasty. Injera was fresh and delectably spongy. Highly recommend.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food. It was delicious! I ordered pickup, and as soon as I entered I was nicely greeted by staff. The restaurant itself looked beautiful. Great service and amazing food. Highly recommend if you’ve never tried Ethiopian food.

As someone who can’t really handle spice, I was a little hesitant to try Ethiopian food after hearing about how spicy it can get, but I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The food is amazing and the spice is not too overwhelming. My favorite thing to order is the tibs, AKA the cubed beef. It is perfectly tender and flavorful and their rice is amazing! Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area.

My first time ordering from here. The aroma drew me in.... I ordered the beef stew but instead of getting the traditional bread, I asked for rice. Check your orders before you leave. I did not get the rice and I live too far to return. I will try to enjoy the beef stew- it is tasty.

Another win for Harlem USA! We were intentional about supporting a black business for our Kwanzaa gathering and Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant exceeded our expectations! Our first time dining at this location and it was a wonderful experience especially since we were a large group celebrating Kwanzaa. The staff was very warm and friendly, accommodating of all our requests and always with a smile. We had an amazing time. The food was delicious, not too spicy, oily or salty and very reasonably priced. I had the Veggie Combo for one about $20+ bucks that comes with string beans, lentils, collard greens, chick peas, cabbage and split peas. You can swap out any one of those items and double up on others. For example I swapped out the collard greens and got two servings of chick peas instead all served with a side of Injera (Ethiopian bread like wrap) which also comes with a gluten free option. The avocado salad was pretty good except for the tangy dressing which I felt was an acquired taste. I’d have it just plain next time. Everything was absolutely deelish overall!Remember you’re eating with your hands to have the full experience!Wheelchair accessible and free street parking but plan ahead as per usual NYC life? Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back for sure. Thanks for the outstanding service.Vegetarian options: Veggie Combo delivers a win!Parking: Took a couple circles around the block but found street parking on Saturday night in Harlem!

My whole family has loved this place since we found it by accident a few years ago. The food is consistently excellent. We typically order the Yetamin Fitfit (spicy! and good!) and a Meat Combo for 1 & Vegetable Combo for 1, along with an extra order of injera. That feeds our family of four nicely. We love coming here and plan to many times in the future!

Great place, great food and very reasonable price. We ordered a veggie and meat combo and it was big enough for me and my wife. The waitresses were very kind and we felt very pleased. Highly recommend!

Not many people were present when we got there around 6:45 PM on a Friday night, only had three other tables filled during our dining. Ordered vegetable sambusa, lamb lega tibs, meat combo for one, and veggie combo for one. This was more than enough for the 3 of us. Everything was good. Glad we got the lamb legs tibs-the lamb had crispy edges and were flavorful. The meat combo comes with 2 side veggies. My dinner companions enjoyed the honey wine. It was very dim lighting, which I did not like much. That did not make for a romantic atmosphere, it just made it a little harder to see. I liked that there was a bottle of hand sanitizer on each table so you can make sure each person had clean hands before digging in the shared food! High chairs are available, but no changing table in the small hole in the wall bathroom.

There may not be much atmosphere here but the food and very friendly service makes up for that. I’ve eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants and this is by far some of the best I’ve ever had.

Four of us came here around 6:30pm on a Saturday and we were able to get seated right away. The restaurant started really filling up around 7:30pm. The food was phenomenal and it looked amazing too! I highly recommend this restaurant as the staff was also very nice and friendly. I will try to come back next time I am in this

Delicious and authentic. If you’re unfamiliar with the cuisine, order a combination plate to try many different things.
