Business dinner. Service was as you would expect. Food was very good, very flavourful. Slightly strange approach to the menu with lots of the dishes being described as small when ordering.

not actually open as late as it says it is on weekdays

The cocktails are fantastic, the bar is huge and has a really cool vibe. I always bring my friends who visit NYC.

Waiter messed up multiple times. Food was good, not great, but portions were a rip off. Had a great bottle of wine which gave our friends and us some sense of positivity for this place. The fact that it was a Saturday night and the place wasn’t busy should say it all. So many places to eat in NYC. Don’t make this one of them.

Very cool 80s vibe, loud but not obtrusive Marvin Gaye and soul soundtrack, very busy even at 6.30pm. So, first to say is it’s not cheap. The much hyped crudo (four different fish) was beautifully presented but frankly underwhelming especially at $26 per head. On the other hand, the honey lacquered roast duck with satsuma ($41) was truly outstanding. Superb, in fact. Wines by the glass were good quality and - small detail- served in beautiful glasses. All in all we enjoyed it - if you can afford it, go.

I was impressed by the entire feel of Ada’s place - you are greeted by the beautifully decorated bar back as soon as you get upstairs but the majority of the space is tucked away in the rear. Cozy and swanky all the way down to the menu design. All of this would not be written if my cocktail wasn’t absolutely delicious. I wish I took a picture of my mezcal and carrot before I tasted it but couldn’t help myself once I did.

My spouse and I visited Legacy Records for brunch on a Sunday in mid-February 2020. Legacy Records is open daily for dinner and for brunch on the weekends. Guests can book a table using the online RESY reservation system. Legacy Records opened in March 2018 on West 38th Street near 10th Avenue in the Midtown South/Hell’s Kitchen/Hudson Yards neighborhood near the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It occupies the street level of the Henry Hall Apartments. The Delicious Hospitality Group owns Legacy Records and also operates neighbors Parcelle, Ada’s Place, and Easy Victor Café (in the same building), as well as Charlie Bird in SoHo and Pasquale Jones in NoLita. The L-shaped restaurant space offers a lounge/bar area upon entry as well as a coffee corner. The main dining room occupies the rear of the space, with stand-alone tables in various sizes and configurations, a few booths, and some more private tables that share two banquettes in two sort of recessed pockets in the dining room. Large windows open onto a narrow strip of outdoor space. High ceilings, cloth wallcoverings, leather tabletops, metallic finishes, and pops of green color complete the décor. The restaurant’s name comes from a recording studio that once stood on the same site, and accompanying music reminds diners of that fact. We shared two appetizers: the beet salad (red and golden beets and something else incredibly tasty that we could not quite place, perhaps a Japanese yam?) and the duck sausage (two homemade patties nicely grilled and topped with a piece of crispy sage [this item is listed as a side dish on the menu]). We loved that the beet salad contained mostly beets, whereas so many other restaurants use mostly greens with just a few small slices of beets. As our main dishes, we ordered the tonarelli cacio y pepe (pasta with a pecorino and peppercorn sauce; this dish was a bit undersized) and the fried chicken (which is listed on the menu as a side dish, albeit a very hearty and entrée-priced side dish; alternatively, you can order the fried chicken as a sandwich). Disappointingly, the only dessert offered was three flavors of ice cream (we passed). The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our brunch at Legacy Records; the food, service, and atmosphere made for a pleasant experience.

This is the second time we went to Legacy records and loved it. Everything was sooo soo delicious. The presentation of each dish was beautiful and artful and the execution was wonderful. We started with the Montauk oysters with jalapeños totally delish and the scallop crudo. Next the foie gras (divine) and the duck for two - which I feel is there "stand out" dish. The only tiny tiny nit was that the red wine was too cold, but otherwise everything else was utter perfection! If you are bargain hunting be aware it is pricey, but I felt it was worth it!

Ex recording studio turned restaurant. Went with large group of 6 pax. Appetizer portions can be small, and not great for sharing. Nothing stood out. Pastas were excellent. Mains course highlight was the duck. Beef was avg. Wine list deep but very overpriced. Service very good.

New Year's event was packed and virtually no snacks as promised - too pricey for what was offered
