Business dinner. Service was as you would expect. Food was very good, very flavourful. Slightly strange approach to the menu with lots of the dishes being described as small when ordering.
Very cool 80s vibe, loud but not obtrusive Marvin Gaye and soul soundtrack, very busy even at 6.30pm. So, first to say is it’s not cheap. The much hyped crudo (four different fish) was beautifully presented but frankly underwhelming especially at $26 per head. On the other hand, the honey lacquered roast duck with satsuma ($41) was truly outstanding. Superb, in fact. Wines by the glass were good quality and - small detail- served in beautiful glasses. All in all we enjoyed it...
I was impressed by the entire feel of Ada’s place - you are greeted by the beautifully decorated bar back as soon as you get upstairs but the majority of the space is tucked away in the rear. Cozy and swanky all the way down to the menu design. All of this would not be written if my cocktail wasn’t absolutely delicious. I wish I took a picture of my mezcal and carrot before I tasted it but couldn’t help myself once I did.
