Had a beautiful visit and was warmly greeted by Elaine and Eric. They were very proactive in letting me know any updates to the menu and were super attentive!

I had the butternut squash soup and delicious Cobb salad. It went really well with a Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, respectively. Both dishes had wonderful balance and came out super quick! Shout out to Express lunch.

Would absolutely love to visit again!

I came to the bar with without a reservation and they were kind enough to accommodate us. I asked for a Cremant d’ Alsace it was open for more than a few days there was a punch in the mid palate. Sparkling water was $7 buck with no label on it not sure if this is from a machine it didn’t taste like a recently opened bottle. Trust my palate I am a sommelier. My advice is skip this go to Boucherie
Wine bar.

Beautifully decorated and with an extensive wine list. This is a classic that everyone must visit in New York City.

Is the wine bar of the famous master Somm Aldo. The place is very nice, low light and nice music, is the kind of place that you can go inside and stay for hours without knowing what time is it. The service es very friendly and fast, they know about wines as you can expect. The prosciutto and melon beautiful and delicious

Their distinctive style runs through every aspect of the experience. Their team showed understanding, offered assistance and maintained warmth. You pay bargain prices for premium food. The food quality speaks to careful sourcing. I couldn't help rating this place perfectly.

This place is a top of mine, then I found out the sommelier is the same as Le Bernardin (my #1 in the city!), so it makes sense. Love the rose frissant and dry Riesling

Phenomenal spot in the heart of midtown. Great ambience, excellent service, calming music. Felling rejuvenated after my lunch. Cant go wrong with hot lunch special —carrot ginger soup and capresse panini sandwich for $17. It was so good I forgot to take pictures.

Can’t wait to come back with company

I discovered the Aldo Sohm wine bar through the recommendation of my online friends who live in New York. Since then, it’s become my “regular haunt” - combination of a peaceful atmosphere, incredible wine menu and a break away from the Manhattan Chaos work perfectly for me. But there is one really big strength to the bar - the Sommeliers who work there. It’s clear that wine is their passion and Aldo has trained them wonderfully - knowledgable, friendly, welcoming and always willing to talk about wine.

On day 1, I was made to feel exceptionally welcome straight away by a very friendly and knowledgeable Sommelier, who introduced herself as Carla - who went to great lengths to ensure I was choosing wines that I would find interesting and different.

As time has gone by, I’ve got to know all of the team very well. They are hardworking, their enthusiasm and knowledge shines through. And that’s what makes those bar stand out above the rest for me - the staff.

Plenty of interesting and different wines populate the menu, and the staff will gladly help navigate you through the menu based on your tastes and preferences for styles of wine. The food is also excellent too.

Thoroughly recommended - especially if you’re a “wine geek” like I am or just fancy trying something different. You’ll be made to feel very welcome…

This pace is my go to place for three years now. Only being in town for work two weeks a year ALDO is the perfect place to ende the day for a glass on your own, to hang out with friends and chat in a sophisticated atmosphere or to have a conversation with a colleague. The atmosphere is like a living room with different seating options. It never gets too noisy and the selection of wine is just great. So is the service. I like that they all have their individual characters and still manage to navigate around the preferences of the customer. So clearly: ask your waiter for advice and they lead you well! I particularly enjoy when Carla is there as several times she truly surprised with great recommendations and even made my friend discover her new favorite vineyard. Carlas approach is always very welcoming , charming and professional at the same time. When she is around I know I don't have to think too much about what I drink. And even when you give a range for bottle she navigates perfectly.
On of the best things at ALDO is the 9pm magnums they will open. Some really are a surprise and way different than a regular size bottle. Yes, these glasses are not cheap, but they are too good to think budget ;-)
In short: if alone ore with people (the ones you like), ALDO is a great place to enjoy a good glass!

It is very sad that aldo welcomes people to join their staff that ruin customers experience. Sad servers, unhappy, disrespectful, rude with discriminatory behavior. Today i went to have a glass of wine with my friend and he ask as questions to the server CARLA and she treated him in a very rude and disrespectful way. Hopefully next time she is not there. Those unprofessional and disrespectful people ruin places like aldo.
