The Saksaku cream puffs ($6 for 6, perfectly crusty) and matcha mochi munchkins ($5 for 8, freshly made and a perfect balance of earthy and sweet) are NEXT LEVEL. The place itself is nothing fancy, but clean and modern compared to the average teeny NYC place: you order on a touchscreen and your food and drinks come out within 2-5 min. We got various drinks and two of the full size mochi donuts - all solid, a lil more creative than your average boba place.
I got the taro mochi munchkin donuts and they were amazing - not to sweet hehe. Don’t listen to the other review saying Dunkin is better - that person definitely hasn’t had a mochi donut ever in their life (it's supposed to be chewy and that's what makes it good) to be saying that lol. I’d definitely come back. The staff here were friendly also.
I used to frequent here when they first opened, moved out the city and came back again while I visit NYC, it has changed, the drink used to be made to order, look more delicate and taste better, now it's premade and pulled out from the fridge. The difference is noticeable, although the drink and puffs are still decent but I probably won't return
