I am a vegetarian and was excited to see that the menu has 3 options that sounded really good. I got the LA fade away with the spicy eggplant as it looked and sounded really good. Was thoroughly disappointed by the taste. Every ingredient was bitter (the eggplant, the sauce on the bread, the arugula) and the bread itself was hard to chew. I tried to have a few bites but I unfortunately had to throw most of it away. The eggplant was not spicy in the least and the sun dried tomato didn’t have a good flavor. Maybe it was just a bad day but would not recommend :( (I think the pistachio cream one might be a better bet though!)

The amount of food they gave was way too little. They skimped so much the flat bread was triple as thick as the meat, cheese, sauce, and veggies. My friend said a different location of All’Antico Vinaio in NYC they’ve had in the past gave much more food, at least twice as much. I would strongly recommend going to a different location for a much better experience.
Last summer, I tried the All’Antico Vinaio in Florence which was heavenly. It would be an insult to compare this Washington Square park All’Antico Vinaio to the original.

I ordered 2 la paradiso+drinks, 22$ for each . The ingredients seem good quality as any other branch. But in this branch, they put 1/5 of mortadella compared to the branch in mid town for the same costs. The cost of ingredients they placed wouldn’t even add up to 10$, they sell 2 slice of mortadella as 10 slice by cutting it thinner. The ventilation inside the shop was poor, the staffs were polite, but I will never return to this branch again despite its proximity to me.

Double the cost and 1/5 the quality of any sandwich shop you find in Roma. Don’t believe the hype
The sandwiches are huuuge, you definitely get your moneys worth. They are a solid good.

Really disappointed by the sandwich I got. Ordered L’Inferno. The focaccia was not warm and the bottom was burned. It was hard to chew. I barely finished half of the sandwich. I have been to Florence twice and this was my go to sandwich shop. They have several stores in NYC. The serving though was larger than what they serve in Florence. I guess the original is always the best.

Best thing I ate in NYC
Delicious sandwich, but nothing special.
I would have expected a fresh burrata.
In general I think the price is too high.

Let me start by saying that I am an Italian on holiday in New York (we are very pretentious about food), the Schiacciata was amazing, still hot. Kurt the boy who served us was very polite, nice, we really had fun.
