An awesome place with lots of selections. Look for the 365 label of products, they are VERY affordable,so if you're a senior like me you will be able to afford the healthy food here with this name brand. They have three floors, and a public bathroom which always has a long line like a discotheque, but you can use it if you're in the Union square vicinity without any hassle.
Very good products and price.
I am currently more than 7 months pregnant and i want the management team and the public to know what I’ve experienced in the cafe area yesterday.
I was sitting in the cafe since my belly is super heavy, carrying bunch of stuff while my husband is shopping at this Whole Foods. I noticed there are homeless around.
Within 5 mins after I sat down, the security guard suddenly approached to me and ask me to leave. I explained that I am pregnant and waiting. He immediately, clearly respond: ‘I don’t care. You need to eat or drink to be seated here.’ Then he left.
While I was sitting, one of the homeless at the near table kept starring at me without moving his eyeballs, after certain time I was scarred. If I could move I would not stay there for one more second.
How did the security guard help? The security came back 3-5mins after the first chat, directly asked me to leave again. I had to explain again: ‘it is too hard for me to carry all the stuff to purchase food. Once my husband comes back we will get sth. ‘ I felt I almost have to beg him to let me stay.
How does the security not pay any attention to the public security, instead he kept coming and asked a pregnant woman to leave, when there are open tables around?
I am a young Asian woman with gentle look. As a NY resident who worked for health industry before/during/after COVID, I am SUPER frustrated to be treated like this at the hardest moments in my life.
It hurts my mental health badly and I am going to keep posting it at social media.
A New York City landmark! I make sure to visit it every time I’m in Union Square. It also helps that their yogurt selection is just the best!
This Whole Foods has AWFUL customer service. I’m a kind person but twice I had an employee give me attitude over a simple question. This last time (just 5 minutes ago), the elderly African female employee packed my eggs wrong (they were not stable with one end dipping all the way down). I knew these eggs would break so I kindly asked the lady to readjust them. She told me to do it myself. So I did without protest even tho it was already leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Then I realized the bag was way too heavy and asked her for another bag. She said “no” in a very rude demeanor. That it was 10 cents. Then just threw the paper bag on the counter and walked away. It was a genuinely bizarre encounter. I don’t know what her problem is. But it’s becoming a trend now that I feel like this Whole Foods has awful customer service.
Update
Ok Wholefoods looking better!!!!
Oh Wholefoods I have been loving your Union Square location since day one but lately i have to go other places to shop. The shelves are empty. The same products are out for weeks at a time. I guess your new system of truck to shelf sucks!!!!!!!! How embarrassing Wholefoods. You have become like every other lame supermarket. Its sad really
Delicious food and good service to pick up purchases made on Amazon
cockroaches.
I give it one star because of the love I have for other Whole Food stores. Today I was in the Union Square area and I wanted to eat whole food sushi, the eating area was full of homeless people and dirty.
Hate this place

I love everything about whole foods. Every product from the bulk section to the cheese is incredible. It even has a wonderful feeling when you walk through the door. It can be more expensive but it's that saying "you get what you pay for" with all the recalls and additives they're finding in food that's causing cancer I think it's worth it.
Yesterday afternoon, I visited the Whole Foods Union Square location to take advantage of the Friday Amazon Prime deal: 12 oysters for $12. I headed to the seafood section where I noticed two employees working behind the counter.
When I inquired about the oyster deal, one of the seafood butchers seemed unaware of the promotion, which was surprising. Nonetheless, I decided to place my order for a dozen oysters and requested that they be shucked, which I understand is an option they typically offer. To my surprise, the butcher initially told me he couldn’t shuck them.
It wasn’t until I became visibly frustrated that he offered assistance, which left me with mixed feelings about the interaction.
This experience highlighted a few concerns:
1. An employee’s lack of product knowledge about a widely advertised deal was unexpected.
2. The reluctance to fulfill a standard request left me questioning the overall customer service experience.
While I understand that the Union Square location is particularly busy, this encounter left a lasting impression that could have been avoided with better communication and attentiveness.
Always love the good fresh food offered. Staff is always nice,!
Good food but price could be a little lower.
Amazing pizzas.
