I had such a great time here! Sarah, the bartender, made the experience even better. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t wait to come back and see her again!

Solid! I took a gamble on a place I never tried before when family popped into town. The food is pretty appealing but not exceptional. I got the bistro burger which was fine, they cooked it to the right temperature which I appreciated. Overall what I really valued was the service which was excellent. I was also able to make a pretty last minute on a Friday night and we got seated immediately.

I went to Alligator Pear on a Saturday night for dinner. For starters, the tables were sticky. No joke, I struggled a little when picking up the glass to drink water. Service was subpar, we didn’t get offered any water. To be fair, when I asked for water the waiter did provide steadfast. The food was also quick. We ordered the pork belly skewer, which is pork belly meat on a stick grilled. Ours was burnt. Cocktails were fine. Then came our main entree which was steak frites and lamb chops. No steak knives? Again, to be fair we didn’t ask for serrated knives to cut the steak and lamb chops. But shouldn’t the waiter provide those, if available? Pretty basic menu, nothing to set the restaurant apart from the thousands of other spots nearby. We held the restaurant to a high regard because we reserved a private room for a party in the past and the food and service for that was phenomenal. Maybe it was just a busy night so service and food were subpar. Hope the restaurant updates their menu.

Food was okay at best. They tried to beautify what looks like a warehouse.
We had a Pulsd voucher, which became a very stressful experience. Lobster roll was an upcharge, though it cost $32 on the menu and the Pulsd voucher allowed for any entree $38 and less. Manager came and (with a massive attitude) lectured us on how the "lobster meat costs more than asparagus that comes with the chicken." OK. Fine. They said the upcharge was $9, but it ended up being $10 on the bill. Dessert was included in the Pulsd voucher, too, but somehow also ended up on the bill. This dinner experience was way too much work.

We had a great experience at Alligator Pear! The ambiance and decor is very nice, and our servers were kind and attentive! We shared the arancini (black truffle and parmesan) as an appetizer, ordered blackened salmon and shrimp alfredo for entrees, and the creme brûlée cheesecake for dessert! Everything was delicious— our only criticism was that the arancini could have used a little more salt. Overall, we had a great dinner experience and would recommend!

Had been wanting to try this spot and got a reservation easily. Most of the food/drinks were just okay, a little bland and the croutons were stale. The peppers and beignets were good. The waiter was nice enough but brought the check with dessert without asking if we wanted anything else (plenty of open tables). I probably wouldn't plan to go but if I ended up there again I wouldn't be mad.

i’m not trying to hate you feel me it looks really cool in the restaurant but unfortunately they don’t have the chef that makes the new Orleans inspired food anymore. So i just got the other stuff but another unfortunate thing happened. There was a hair in my butter and my food came out cold… no hate just some things they need to work on. the alligator sausage was good just cold maybe it was just me.

It’s a very eye-catching, beautifully decorated restaurant. The dramatic lighting definitely works to create an almost wonderland illusion.
The cocktails are well done and tasty.
The menu isn’t the largest of menus, but that’s actually a good sign that the cuisine is probably well done…and it is. The restaurant did not disappoint on quality or flavor; everyone at the table really enjoyed their dinners. As a vegetarian, the black bean burger was a great option to discover, and it was very good. Even the apps had options like burrata and arancini, which were both great!
The downside of the experience would be service, which is where many restaurants seem to pay less attention for unknown reasons. Our dinner was served literally within a couple of minutes of our appetizers, which was very jarring, and created a suddenly and unnecessarily cluttered table. The bus boy later took away an appetizer that we hadn’t quite finished without asking first, which seems to be something that has become a “standard” in many restaurants, but is very aggravating.
However, this was my first time at this restaurant, so that may not be typical for the restaurant as a whole.
The other issue was loud music, which is an issue that many restaurants seem to fall victim to. They don’t take into consideration that loud music means people are going to speak louder, which means the noise level in the restaurant gets out of control. That said, the noise level here wasn’t unbearably loud since the music was a calmer genre, but was bordering on it. I know louder music makes the place seem even more exciting, but honestly, people never go to restaurants to listen to the playlist.
All in all, this was a nice place with great cuisine, and interesting menu options, so I would certainly consider going back.
