Pasta was so soggy it was almost a liquid.
My experience today was so bad that I came to leave a review and funnily enough I apparently already left a 1 star review 2 years ago. The customer service here is absolutely terrible, they will ignore you if you don't get loud (or at least if you look like me I guess). And on top of that, they don't even make your order correctly OR even worse use old/sour tasting ingredients. This area is full of deli's and diners, go somewhere else.

#13 The Big apple Hot Pastrami is not as advertised. They literally found the best-looking picture of a hot pastrami and used that as their picture. Their menu also says you can get it on sour dough or rye break. They don't have sour dough bread. I'm not impressed. The Cole Slaw wasn't good either. Queen Pastrami in the moynihan train hall had a better pastrami sandwich. And they queen pastrami give you 2 pickles with your sandwich.

I'm a regular at this place due to the fact is, I work in the area. Whenever I order a meal I always order extra french fries and have no problem paying for it. But you call this extra french fries. It's bad enough I have to pay $0.50 extra for jalapenos for a burger. What they did was push all the french fries to one side of the cart in and put the sandwich on the other side.

Very busy diner, there a few seat to sit on.
We went in at peak breakfast time, this was our first time in a deli so it a new experience which had I had the option, I wish I had more time to place my order, but when everyone else is running at 100mph, you have to also.
Ordered two #5 meals, one pancake one French toast.
You move down to the other end of the shop to pay and pick up your order.
I don’t know how the staff do it, it’s like herding cats, people and orders coming from all sides, but they manage to keep it all u see control. Amazing stuff.

Never pay 1st. Because the price always goes up once the order is given to the cashier. Food is delicious

Al's Delicatessen & Catering in New York, NY. Al’s Deli has been open since 1976-one of the few original delis left in New York City. Located in the heart of midtown right by Macy’s and Penn Station, Al’s Delicatessen has some great New York Classics. Everything is hot, fresh and made to order. They have an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu-and open to 11 pm for any late night treats! Insta: @thehungrysw.

Excellent food…if you’re out and about and want a traditional deli, this is it. They pretty much anticipate what you say before you say it haha. Second level is good for watching people outside.

Looking for a solid spot to grab a bite in NYC? Check out Al’s Deli.
This place has been serving the city since 1976, and trust me, they know what they’re doing. From stacked sandwiches and fresh salads to hot plates that hit the spot, they’ve got it all.
Oh, and the portions? HUGE. You’ll never leave hungry. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything’s made fresh and priced right.
Plus, their sliders are just $3.99—how can you beat that? 🙌
📍 Right in Midtown, near Macy’s. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out.
