Always reliable with excellent food, drinks and service. Civilized experience. Not too loud and tables are properly separated. Clams Oreganata, pork chop, pastas all great. A good relative value for Midtown Italian.

We were looking for a nice Italian restaurant that could accommodate our group of 8 and I booked Amata after seeing the top notch reviews. The food was excellent, a full variety of Italian cuisine, all prepared beautifully. The table was spacious and the service was first rate. The ambience is classic Italian with white linens and not noisy at all.

The service was less than desirable for a table of six. Service was really bad, our waiter had other tasks that seemed more important than his customers. The food was prepared slowly, and when it arrived, not everyone was served at once, for both the appetizer and entrée. We also had to wait until everyone's plate came out, because not everyone was served together. The salmon was undercooked, the pasta sauce served with the parmigiana was tasteless and watery and the Bronzino had bones. We skipped desert just to leave. There are so many great Italian restaurants in the city, please give Amata a pass.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner and we are so glad they did. Cozy setting, excellent service and delicious food made for an enjoyable dinner. My husband and I enjoy Italian restaurants and Amata gets very high praise from us.

I love this restaurant, it has a unique elegance. I've been here quite a few times with my boss and staff. Is beautiful, cozy, waiters are friendly attentive, and kind, they play soft music, food and drinks are amazing. Chris the owner always comes to your table to see if everything is okay.

The dinner was spectacular, and the waitstaff were courteous and attentive.I've been working in the neighborhood for 20 years, and this is hands down at the top of the list of my favorite NYC restaurants. I wish I found this restaurant years ago.

Wonderful dinner with friends who also love Amata. The chilean seabass and the special veal ravioli were a hit. But everything is always great including Caroline's martinis. D

It's hard to say that anything is really perfect, but Amata really comes as close as you can get. Great food; great service; reasonable prices, and a quiet ambience that allows for easy conversation. WE LOVE IT...

It was a terrific experience Asked for a quiet table with privacy and was given a great table in the alcove before the party room, perfect The three of us shared two apps that were generous and delicious. The mains were prepared perfectly. We live in the neighborhood and will return

We made our reservation on open table for 3 o'clock and when we confirmed the restaurant said that their kitchen closes at 3. We could take our food and eat outside. I asked to speak to a manager and there was no one around. This is the second time that this has happened with open table and other restaurants. If the kitchen closes at a certain time you should not be able to make a reservation for that time. You pride yourselves on great service and the service you're are providing is horrible.
