The food was great and so was the service!! Each staff member was incredibly kind. The mango lassi is a must!

I've been to this Indian restaurant a few times now, and it never disappoints. The food is always flavorful, fresh, and served with a smile. Their commitment to cleanliness and great service shines through with every visit. If you're looking for a cozy and authentic Indian dining experience, this is the place to go!

Food was amazing! I like Indian food but the food here at Anar was cranked up on the flavor from what I was used to. Service was excellent as well.

Perfect spot for family dinner matching a service that is topnotch! The best Garlic Naan, Vegetable Samosa and Lamb Biryani our family ever tasted, an absolute authentic Indian flavor!

I really love this place. it's my favorite Indian restaurant in morningside heights, and I've lived here for 25 years. their food - seasoning and execution is the tastiest I've experienced. Yummy!

Ordered take out and was a bit disappointed. I was waiting first so restaurant would be open at 5, the second I was exciting about chicken tikka massala. The stuff is okay but not too nice espiecally host girl. I checked everything but turned out that instead of cheicken I got tofu!! So instead of what I ordered I was just sitting and eating a vegetarian dish that I didn’t order at all. So disappointed w overall quality of everything but naan was good.

Great food but too pricey for the portion sizes.

Got takeout from here a couple of times and it was delicious, so we thought we'd found our new go-to place. But the most recent time we ordered... The food was over an hour late, and the saag paneer just didn't have any paneer in it? It was just spinach? Pretty disappointing, so that will be our last time ordering from Anar.

Best desi option in the UWS. Slightly upscale but they are generous with portions and well worth it. I like that they keep more traditional recipes and flavors on the menu so it is not just typical Indian food for Americans. Having a tandoori spot near home is so nice! I am writing this review mainly because their service is exceptional, something that can be hard to find at a busy restaurant in the city dealing with a large volume of delivery. Had an issue that was Grubhub’s fault and when I called they were incredibly helpful and did more than Grubhub could offer. Exceptional and they went out of their way to help even when they didn’t have to. I wish I had called them sooner.

Just had an absolutely delicious lunch at Anar. Plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and meat options for whatever your diet preference may be. My 7-year old daughter got a mango lassi, we shared vegan pakoras (very tasty with spinach, onion, potato and lots of warm spices), she had a chicken tika tali lunch and I had Chana saag. I can’t speak to the chicken (she liked it) but the chana saag was very tasty and a perfect texture (not soupy or watered down and the chick peas were nice and firm). The tali lunch specials come with a generous portion of basmati rice, delicious yellow dal (nice and garlicky), a delicious mixed vegetable (carrots, peas, green beans, and lots of vibrant spices), and warm naan. The naan contains dairy (eggs and milk in the batter) so I didn’t eat that but it smelled great and was warm and fluffy. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoyed Indian food or simply flavorful food in general. They made the chicken tiki very mild and my daughter said it wasn’t spicy at all!Vegetarian options: Large vegetarian AND vegan menu section.

Chicken tikka masala tasted like an extra sweet tomato sauce. Not very flavorful or creamy. Literal sweetened tomato sauce. Inedible and very disappointing.
