Short review/tips: Get here early before 6 or else you're going to wait. Would highly recommend the Speak Low and like everyone, the Flirtibird. After hearing that this place was going to close soon, a friend of mine and I decided to go here and try a few cocktails. While one of the three was definitely a bit worse than the others, the cocktails here were excellent. We first shared two of the cocktails, the "Flirtibird" and the "Smoke Got In Your Eyes." Flirtibird: Barley shochu Mizu No Mai, shiso, yuzu juice, agave nectar, plum salt rim Of the original two, this was definitely our favorite and I expected it going in as I'm a big fan of shochu as well as basically everything else in this and I've heard this is one of their more popular ones. It was just sweet enough and the plum salt rim added a nice sourness and overall it was very well-balanced. Would recommend. Smoke Got In Your Eyes- Maker's Mark 46, Cocchi Barolo Chinato, Oloroso Sherry, Benedictine, bitters, smoke ($19) As expected from the four liquors, this was very strong with a nice bitterness and we both quickly found out why there wasn't much in there as it was quite strong. I would say that it was perhaps a little bit unbalanced but as this cocktail is basically their version of a Manhattan, I'm not really that surprised. I think that adding either orange rind or something similar would help balance out the overly strong flavors. I decided to go with one more and I went with the "Speak Low" after noticing matcha and sherry. Speak Low: Bacardi Carta Blanca, Bacardi Ocho, Pedro Ximenez sherry, matcha ($18) I'm someone who's usually not that big of a fan of rum cocktails as I find it to overpower most of them with some rare exceptions. This was definitely one of those exceptions as it was quite well balanced. The matcha cut off the sweetness before it became cloying. Highly recommended and the favorite of the three for both of us with the Flirtibird being close behind. Overall this was a very good cocktail bar. The bartenders were friendly and they gave good recommendations and I really don't have much to complain about regarding the drinks. It's a shame that this place is closing but I'm hoping their new place will also work out another 30+ years. Mid 4.

I read so many great reviews about this place that I had pretty high expectations when I visited, but I still managed to be blown away. Very unique, well-crafted cocktails with great service and a cozy atmosphere. You can definitely tell a lot of thought went into creating these cocktail recipes. My friends and I tried the Milestone (has milk tea in it! Haven't seen that before.) and the Snow Fall and immensely enjoyed both drinks. If I had the money and time, I would sit there all night and try ALL of their cocktails - they're that good! Would return to try more cocktails. I went on a Monday night around 8 PM and only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting a table. I'd recommend coming here on a weekday to beat the lines!

I've been wanting to come here for over a year and finally made it! Walked in on a Monday evening right after opening. The vibe was very laid back but classy speakeasyish. We sat at the bar (cause I love watching the bartender make drinks and also because I wanted a good view of the painting above the bar. They also have seating with windows which gives you a view of the street with cars driving by which felt very New York-esque. They also have some more seating in the back behind a curtain abc that area felt more date night vibe. Service is impeccable! Probably one of the best in a speakeasy in nyc tbh. Staff is so attentive and refills your water before the glass is even empty. The head bartender was also very sweet and it was so cool watching him make drinks! Got the fliritibird which was sooo good! Had the New York New York for my second drink which was also good. Definitely at the top of the list of my favorite bars.

* More like 4.5 * Drinks are strong, ample size. Gorgeous interior in an intimate setting. Line up right above the stairs and wait for the hostess to open the speakeasy doors.

One of the best cocktail bars I've been to. I saw a video about this place and thought their technique in creating their cocktails was so unique. If you can see the bar from your seat, you can see the bartenders the distinct wrist movement when using the cocktail shaker. Last fall, my party dropped by after dinner. You have to go into the restaurant where the staff asked if we were here for the restaurant or Angel's Share. Although it might be tempting to eat at the restaurant for convenience, it's perfectly fine to go somewhere else and then come here (during the weekdays) and wait in line (it moves faster than you expect!). It's very dark inside; even seated by the window, my party was cracking out our phone flashlights to read the menu. All the drinks my party ended up getting were $18. The drinks my party got: - Milestones: Suntory Toki, Hoji Royal milk tea, pandan, grapefruit, lemon - Early Wake: Teeling "Small Batch", Mr. Black, stout syrup, orange bitters, chestnut & evaporated milk espuma, smoke salt - Flirtibird: Barley shochu Mizu no Mai, shiso, yuzu juice, agave nectar, plum salt rim - Harvest: Lavender-infused Roku, Galliano, grapefruit, honey, lemon, yogurt - New York New York: Apple & cinnamon-infused Buffalo Trace, spiced maple, Roots, lime, egg white, torched - Purple Rain: Empress 1908, Italicus, almond orgeat, absinthe, lemon - Enchantment: Mijenta, spiced mate tea, cacao, mint, vanilla ice cream, cacao powder, nutmeg ALL of these drinks were good; you really can't go wrong. My only regret was not being able to try more. I'll go over the ones that stood out to me here. I heard people rave about Milestones, so I HAD to get it. I love milk tea and was so shocked to see how clear this milk tea cocktail is. The alcohol taste was still quite strong to me so it was far from being the non-alcoholic milk tea I usually drink but would recommend anyone trying this place for the first time to try it. I always love a good salt rim, and Flirtibird was able to deliver. The cinnamon in the New York New York really stood out and was quite comforting. Purple Rain definitely wins in terms of best color. However, Enchantment is the cocktail I would recommend the most; it's a delicious dessert cocktail that was the perfect drink to end the night with. Whether you are a local or just visiting for bit, I would highly recommend that you stop by for some drinks.

My girl friends and I have been looking forward to grabbing drinks at angel's share and it did not disappoint! The drinks ($14-18) are crafted with care and so unique in taste. I love how the garnishes complement the drinks so well by elevating the aromas with each sip. We didn't get to try many of the food items but the takoyaki was delicious. Make sure to book a reservation in advance if possible otherwise, arrive before 7pm to avoid a wait. Looking forward to coming back!

Thank goodness we cam3 after the blizzard otherwise we would’ve waited an hour + on line. Got a table for four. Drinks were delicious. The server was wonderful!! No camera flash allowed inside. My overly enthusiastic self was scolded many times.

Lovely and a little swanky, beautiful large windows looking out on downtown Manhattan. Great for a date and excellent for crafty cocktail connoisseurs!

I feel like my friends and I were the only people not impressed by this place. The atmosphere is nice and vibes are there but the cost to drink ratio ain't it for me. We got the flirtibird which is very good and I would definitely recommend it but the cost was insane for what you got. The drink itself came in this little cute wooden cup with a HUGE a** cube of ice that literally took up the whole cup and even with that ice in there, the amount of alcohol you got was maybe like filled 1/4 of the cup up lol. Which is insane considering how much surface area the ice cube alone took. I literally finished it in 2 sips lol. That being said, that drink was over $20 LOL. So is that worth it? No. If you don't care about steep NYC drink prices and want the vibes, then sure this place is cool otherwise I think there's plenty more bars in NYC that have a lot more to offer.

Very good cocktails in a very cool atmosphere! You have to enter through the Chinese restaurant to get here. Quite different from most places. Would recommend

A once hidden gem in the heart of the East Village. Best cocktails in NYS. Love to sit by the window during the snow. Just to watch the snow fall while enjoying a great cocktail. Salud

I enjoy speakeasies so we definitely had to make a stop at Angel's Share when we visited NYC. Located in a Japanese restaurant on the second floor, the inside is dark and dimly lit and feels intimate. My friend and I came on a Monday night and there were no open tables. We had to wait about 15 minutes until we were seated. Service was a bit on the slower side as it took some time to order our drinks and then another 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered the Flirtibird, which is a tart and fruity drink with yuzu. Definitely had a unique and complex flavor profile, but it was so good..so good that I ordered another one! We didn't get to try any of their food so I can't speak to that but this was a great spot for after dinner drinks if the lines aren't super long.

I love speakeasies! This is one of the most popular ones in NYC, and I'm glad I had the chance to visit with some friends on a recent trip there. Located inside and up the stairs of a Japanese restaurant, you'll want to get here early to secure seats. It gets super busy later in the night, and small groups are honestly best. You never know, though. We sat at the bar and just started order cocktails. I can't remember how many we had, and the menu keeps rotating, so who knows what was in them? They were all tasty, and I loved watching the bartenders at work... and commenting on their awesome tattoos. I've definitely tried the following, in case anyone seems them on the menu again: * Flirtibird - Barley shochu Mizu no Mai, shiso, yuzu juice, agave nectar, plum salt rim * Night & Day - Glen Morangie, Cherry Heering, Mandarinetto, Cap Corse, Rouge, Leather * Mona Lisa - Earl grey infused Boatyard Double Gin, Lilleit, Combier, bitter * Milestones - Suntory Toki, Hoji Royal milk tea, pandan, grapefruit, lemon Nothing gets me like fancy-sounding ingredients, especially ones used in traditional Japanese cuisine. Such a fun and classy experience that I'd take anyone to. My friends and I were on a dangerous Speakeasy-hopping mission, and Angel's Share really kicked it off right. I wish I dressed up a little nicer on my night out in NYC, but I guess that just means I'll have to do it again.

Found this spot very last minute before going to dinner reservations and it was super fun! It was a bit hard to find as most descriptions online talk about the downstairs spot that you can see from the street. The spot we went to was tucked away in Japanese restaurant found upstairs of the building. We got seated right away on a weekday which was nice. The space is small but the tables are all set up well. We were right by the window which was fun to look out onto the streets. I got the Flirtibird, which was Barley Shochu Mizu no Mai, shiso, yuzu juice, agave nectar, plum salt rim. I love ume (the flavor of the plum salt), shiso and yuzu so this drink was delicious. All popular and unique flavors in Japanese cuisine. I would've loved if there were some snacks to go with these drinks, but I was still impressed and would definitely come back!
