Excellent place - I had hamburger steak with curry over rice with lots of little side dishes. It was great

Food was amazing! The pasta was the best. My first time having omurice and everything tasted delicious. We made an appointment just in case at 12pm (weekday) but looks like they don’t get too crowded which is great

Not bad! But not great either, as many people have pointed out. The demiglace sauce for the omurice was near perfect, but the egg and rice themselves were pretty flavorless. The curry was solid, a bit runny for my taste, definitely nothing out of the ordinary though. The real issue I have with this place is the price. 34 dollars for omurice with a burger! and the portion was pretty small considering! Gd! Aesthetics inside were nice, good vibe, but probably won't be coming back unfortunately.

The food is ok but overpriced
Comfort food, but make it Japanese. This place is small, cozy, and delicious. Low lights, quiet music. Fun decor. Lots of 2-person tables, but a couple 4-6 person tables as well. This would be a great date spot!In my opinion, the dinner sets aren't worth the additional $8. The main came with miso soup and that was plenty for me. If you want the sets, I'd recommend going for lunch instead.

Best happy hour food in the city. Really extraordinary flavors that bring back feelings of being in Japan.

My first time here was really good so I decided to come back for 2nd time. We didn’t have reservations, came in and told 15 minutes wait, we were sit at the bar table, however, have to seat on mis match seat which doesn’t make any sense.. there’s so many tables are still open (reserved) so it was totally weird.. like why not even have same chairs for the bar??We ordered.. I got the mentaiko pasta, after one bite I found a hair… it was not good compared to last time in terms of food, service and experience.. would not recommend. Should go to another places near by. With the price is not worth it.

Loved this spot for Japanese comfort food!! So many great options, we tried the nori fries, fried chicken, omu rice, katsu sando, and tonkatsu set. The fried chicken was so flavorful and I loved that it didn't have a ton of breading on it. The omu rice was also delicious. They have a great sake selection and we enjoyed a bottle of sake with our meal.

On two separate dishes there were foreign objects found in the food, eggshells in fried chicken and some texture like a rock but it’s like plastic pieces in hamburger. Staff was not apologetic at all, their response was “oh again?” Water glasses weren’t refilled and prices were incredibly high, $12 for a bun-less hamburger and a plain 3 egg omelette! Cost $42 unbelievable.

My friend and I tried their omurice, tofu, and croquettes. While each dish was nice and satisfying, I must admit that considering the price point, they were merely alright and nothing particularly memorable. It’s a casual place to enjoy food, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor or uniqueness to justify the cost. Overall, it’s an okay spot if you’re in the mood for a simple meal, but don’t expect anything extraordinary.

Food is fine, a bit too salty. Menu is somehow overpriced.
Loved this place! The most authentic yōshoku (western style Japanese food) one can find in NYC, from presentation to the food itself. Ordered the curry with Tonkatsu and every bite was delicious. Tonkatsu was perfectly crispy and the curry went really well with it also. If you pay a little bit extra you get 5 small side dishes and a miso soup, that I think was well worth the price. The only complaint I have was that the miso soup was a bit salty, but it was not too bad. The restaurant was pretty spacious, which is hard to find in the East Village. Bonus point: we went there at 9:30pm and we stayed until they started to close - but they were patient and did not rush us at all.
