I really really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I just couldn’t. I came here an approximately a week ago to celebrate my mom’s birthday with a seafood boil and it was very disappointed. When I saw the prices for the seafood combo I wasn’t too surprised or anything because we’re in NY and NY restaurants love up-charge people and it’s close in price to what most seafood places also charge but what got me was the service fee which brought our price up astronomically. That being said, it wasn’t too much of an issue for the service fee being charged automatically, because workers need to be paid for their work and that means I don’t have to tip large. As for the seafood boil, I really didn’t enjoy it at all because it didn’t have that strong Cajun flavor that I was hoping to get. For me, the flavors weren't strong at all and it tasted extremely mild. Ordering a mild really does mean a mild, like absolutely no spice at all!! Another thing that I didn’t really like was how small the portions were, I’ve ordered seafood boil in other places and couldn’t get through half the bag but with the 1lb shrimp and 1lb crawfish combo my mom and I finished fast because it was a small portion. Overall, I think this restaurant isn’t worth the extreme hype it gets, but I will say the staff was genuinely nice and welcoming to my mom and I but the food didn’t give what I expected it to give at all. If you’re in NY and you’re REALLY craving some seafood boil and no other places were around then sure I would definitely check this place out but don’t expect that strong Cajun flavors you’d find out of New York.

Great lunch deals. Real value for my money. Great option for an inexpensive weekday lunch.

Quick seafood if you like it messy! You have to peel your own shrimp and crack the lobster covered with buttery sauce.

They cook what you order by the pound in a bag with sauce, then give you a bib and gloves. Brilliant business plan!

Catfish basket = 10/10
Headless shrimp in butter garlic = 10/10

Butter garlic was our favorite.
And spicy=SPICY. (think Thai spice)

This is my second time going here. We decided to come here a second time because the first time, during summer, was a 10/10. From the great Happy hour options to the amount of food and the service was great.

However, last night going back, it was not the same. They were charging extra 6$ per each side to add to the bag that other boil places would just give with no extra charge. One of the add-on sides was extra sauce?? Which i have never even heard of? I decided not to get the extra sauce because I would assume it would be saucy enough, like a boil bag usually is. But no, it was the most driest boil bag i ever had. the sauce was completely absorbed and they were very stingey with the amount of sauce in the bag. we ended up having to get extra sauce because our meal was so dry and they gave a boil sauce in the tiniest ketchup container. Our total at the end ended up being way more than I have ever really spent at a boil, given my friends and I initially loved this place because of its affordable options s, how generous their deals was and their flavor.

I must say the service here is great and the ladies who work here are super nice. maybe it’s the upper management? or whoever decides to change all the good options on the menu but they have just become so stingey here with the options i don’t know why. this place was going to become our go to boil place, we are not coming back

First time going to this crab boil restaurant. I was so surprised at how delicious the boil was. It wasn't greasy, lots of flavor and a great portion size. The drinks could have been stronger but still a 5/5 for me. Looking forward to going again, I hope the food remains consistent.

Really excellent place to eat seafood. We came for the lunch menu and lobster rolls. Fantastic quality and value for money. Would have like to come back for the actual seafood boil, surrounding tables liked incredible.

We ordered whole Dungeness crab and mussels and added corn for 2 of us. We were full! It was first time for us and we had no idea how much to order but the server helped us with it. It had nice flavor (we picked lemon pepper) and price was excellent. I highly recommend giving them a try :)

We were recommended to. Is it this casual eatery. They offer seafood, lobster, snow crab, clams, muscles, and shrimps cook in different sauces or Cajun, butter lemon etc. we had shrimp and snow crab in mild Cajun sauce. Clams in lemon butter. Muscles in black pepper. Also Shrimp gumbo, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts as for side dishes. The seafood was quite fresh apart from 2-3 shrimp that were a bit doubtful. The clams taste good but they were too high, hence very chewy. The muscles were so size fresh and juicy. The gumbo and all the side dishes were very good. Our server was pleasant and he ran around the room efficiently to serve everyone. It’s one of those place that you eat seafood like you eat at home..using both hands!

Dined in on 5/11/24. Aqua Boil is one of the best seafood restaurants I have dined at. The whole lobster, Cajun mix was absolutely delicious. Today is my last day in NYC but I highly recommended this place. Staff were helpful and the service was great.
