My favorite halal cart in Manhattan, even better than Adel's. I used to be loyal to Halal Guy's, but when they closed their location on 95th Street, I found AR Cairo. I had no idea halal cart chicken could be so good! I was used to dry, bland chicken from Halal Guy's, that I basically never ordered the chicken, but AR's chicken is really juicy and flavorful. I'd prefer this chicken over Popeye's. My go-to is a large Combination chicken/lamb platter with.white sauce and extra hot sauce, lettuce, tomato and jalapeno. They offer some other vegetables like pickles, cucumbers and olives, but I find that their flavors overpower the rest of the food. The rice is also excellent; seasoned very well and hmhss the perfect doneness. The portions are also massive. While I can definitely eat a large in one sitting and then take a nap, I usually eat about 2/3, and save the rest for a snack later on. The service is also great. Depending on what time you go, you might need to wait a few minutes for the food to be cooked, but it's worth the wait. The only downside is the location. Specifically, the truck is next to a bar that has a smoking section outside, so you might have to smell smoke while you wait for your food.
Disgusting filling pita with old brown lettuce and tons of it only topping the gyro with a little lamb meat on top. Pulled so much old lettuce out that 20 birds surrounded the area to eat. This is not an acceptable gyro. Extremely disappointing. Shady business practice.
Best food truck in the UWS. Plus they are super nice.
Below average halal food. Not a lot to meat in the halal plate and the person serving me seemed to be a little off, almost condescending. Would not recommend
Always a reliable place to get great food late at night in the UWS! Really nice guy and great portion sizes
Always nice and happy to see you, and the food is great for a good price.

Stay far away! No prices on the truck. scammed me outside the museum of natural history for $32 for chicken over rice and chicken wings plus a fake 13% sales tax (NYC is 8%).
Super small portions, total ripoff just because this scumbag thinks he can.
delicious and reliable
You’re paying $9 for the fancy truck to get ripped off with mediocre food, barely any chicken and a ton of raw onions after on top to create an illusion. The guy also shouting talking on phone preparing your food spit flying out his mouth. So many better other options near. Never again

Food was not what I expected I asked for a mix player and I got left smal chunks for chicken and lab. And the portions are very small compared to other trucks. Also got some of the fried food, it was straight out of the freezer and tasted badCould use a lot of improvement. Definitely not worth the time to go there.
