My favorite halal cart in Manhattan, even better than Adel's. I used to be loyal to Halal Guy's, but when they closed their location on 95th Street, I found AR Cairo. I had no idea halal cart chicken could be so good! I was used to dry, bland chicken from Halal Guy's, that I basically never ordered the chicken, but AR's chicken is really juicy and flavorful. I'd prefer this chicken over Popeye's. My go-to is a large Combination chicken/lamb platter...
Finally, a place to get my chicken/lamb/combo over rice on Sundays!The salad part of it is slightly different, but otherwise it is very similar to the Halal carts. In particular, the salad includes a few pickles and pimento stuffed olives. If you don’t like them, you you can easily pick them out.This is free market economics at work. This truck gets my money on Sundays, and not the others.
