Such a fun bar! The waitress was super friendly and helpful. The pina colada syringe jello shots were my favorite!

My friends and I were having a lovely night, and our server was very nice. Service was somewhat slow at times, but it was a busy night, and the cocktails were yummy. Unfortunately, our night was ruined when we were very rudely and aggressively asked to leave, for what I can only assume was because my friend and I used the restroom together. We saw multiple pairs of girls use the bathroom together all night, plus there was a couple literally dry-humping on the couch next to us the whole time, which they did nothing about. We were in the bathroom for maybe a minute before the security guard started banging on the door so hard that it was shaking. I was in the middle of peeing, so obviously, I wasn’t going to open the door. We also heard him say, "Where is the key?" as if he was going to barge in and violate our privacy. He continued to violently bang on the door the entire time I was trying to just do my business.
We were so shaken, but he refused to give us a real answer as to why we had to leave. We had to convince him to let us go back and grab our bags and friends. We are of opposite genders, but my friend is very obviously gay, and this place has pride flags everywhere and gender-neutral bathrooms, so we assumed it would be a safe space for LGBTQ people. Clearly not. If you don’t want more than one person to use the bathroom at once, then apply that rule to everyone, or here's an idea: put up a sign that says as much.
We sadly spent a good amount of money here, only to be treated so disrespectfully. For one, you could have asked us to leave once we exited the bathroom, but banging on the door like that was terrifying and felt like just some weird power trip for the security guard. We were very shaken by this whole experience, so be careful if you decide to come here. The security guard may become violent towards you.

Found Art Bar by chance wandering around the neighborhood and I'm so thankful for it. I'm from Chicago and any future trip to NYC means a mandatory visit.

Fell upon this place on a day trip to NYC and I’m so glad we did! From the food to the service to the atmosphere, this place was 10/10. Amir was our server and he was such a gem! Will definitely be back here again!

Charming atmosphere and lovely drinks. The Lychee martini was perfect! We also tried a cinnamon toast drink at the recommendation of our server and it was amazing. What stands out more than the phenomenal drinks was the service. Libby (sorry if I butchered your name) was fun, warm, and welcoming. We lost a bag and she stayed long after she could have gone home to help us find it. We did find it and she saved the day. Libby was funny and delivered some of the best service in NYC. We were traveling this week and saw a lot of people and places, but we had the best time by far at Art Bar.

Yesterday we had quite a bittersweet experience in this bar. We paid for three rounds, first one paid with tap and let 20% tip and my sister paid the next ones with cash and since they were charging us after that drink we were planning on giving the tip at the end like it is normally done. At the third round we were talking about how we were going to tip because they were really fast and attentive until the waiter comes to us and in a rude way tells us “you know we work for tips and it’s been three rounds and you haven’t tip” which is very culturally shocking someone being rude at you and requiring you to tip them when you are normally paying for the service while you get whatever you want because they should be payed from the boss and the tip would be something extra if you feel like it. We explained to him that we we’re just planning on tipping him at the end and he told us that he neither had to know that nor that we are from barcelona and we have another culture, instead of trying to understand it or explain us how it works here and why do we HAVE to tip. We tried to ask him how is working here and why they get paid their depending on their tips which he answered with “well I can’t do anything about that”. I think it is really easy to be nice (and even more when you are asking us for a tip) and if we tell you that we have already given you a tip and also we are tipping you at the end, instead of being rude and saying that you don’t have to know that, it’s really easy to say “sorry I thought you were not going to tip at all and I don’t know if you know how it works here but since our salary is very low we depend on the tips, so I would really appreciate it” and that’s it. Hopefully there were two costumers who heard everything and admitted that he was very rude, explained us really nicely why this happened, the tip culture here, how their salary work and then we just started a long conversation with them. Since this situation happened, and how it happened and since neither the drinks were amazing nor the price was worth it we are not going to return. But at least the two costumers were really nice and it was a pleasure meeting them.

The bar tender gave attitude throughout the night because we politely mentioned that a part of our food order was missing. Also, said bar tender turned their back a few times any time we were tried to order. I don't know, weird vibes.

Did not eat, cocktails were delicious and generous. We had just come from the pretentious Gansevoort Rooftop and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly and pleasant ease of the Art
