We had an incredible event at Arva recently. Incredible white glove service, food, and communication throughout. Thank you to the team: Shira, Scott, Yin, Sam, and Alex.

After spending all day the spa at the AMAN we were excited to have arva for dinner. We thought that would be one of the highlights of the day but we were WRONG.
The restaurant and vibe were beautiful. The food however was really horrible. Inedible, so bad that we had to send back a pasta and filled up on burnt bread.
Our server was really nice but the food was absolutely horrible and for that price point and exclusivity I am embarrassed to say it was horrible.
We had the bolognese pasta that tasted like nothing or maybe cardboard? How do you mess up bolognese then we had steak and lamb chops, you could have got a better piece of meat at 4 star steakhouses in nyc. It was really bad.
Anyone reading this thinking about dining there think again, so overpriced and so bad. I dont mind paying for good food but this restaurant should really do a deep dive on their chefs. Such a beautiful place with terrible food. My wifes birthday dinner and I told her last night, i owe you a better/real dinner for your birthday. This was like kids food.
So bad. Definitely skip it.
So posh! The staff spoke hospitality. The hors d'oeuvres were great especially the pistachio ricotta bites.
The place looked really posh - that's the word I have. Clean and elegant style. And that looked like the gentry as well.
It was a prefixed menu for the table and limited vegetarian options, surprisingly none in the entrees but it was plenty of food, still. And good.

The overall vibe was relaxed and vibrant. The service was excellent with great timing. Among us we had the salmon, the organic chicken, and the lobster pasta. The food was cooked to perfection. Although our 92 yo mom said she preferred the salmon at Long Horn. The eggplant and zucchini chips were tasty and the dips were plentiful and yummy. Overall it was a great experience. I just keep thinking if I'm going to pay $75 for a ribeye that I should expect more. I can get excellent entrees with a great atmosphere for a little over half the price.

Recommended menu:
1. Avra Chips: Crispy fried thinly sliced eggplant and pumpkin served with fresh tzatziki sauce.
2. Whole Fish: A Greek-style grilled fish dish, seasoned with fresh lemon and herbs, very delicious. Sea bream, sea bass, and branzino are popular.
3. Grilled Octopus: An octopus dish grilled over charcoal. It is soft and has a rich taste.
4. Spanakopita: A traditional Greek pie, a crispy pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese.
5. Lamb Chops: Lamb cooked over charcoal, tender and full of flavor.
6. Baklava: A dessert to end the meal, a traditional Greek pastry with honey and nuts.
I was denied entry and said the restaurant is private, it should not be listed publicly. I don’t want anyone else to have the same experience I did Or update the description to say it is private, thank you
It’s a really really sophisticated spot. Love everything inside. Food is ok, some items are great others ok, great selections of wines and

January 2024 the food was good and the atmosphere great. Everything improved a lot. Only the drinks are still a joke, they will push you to order drinks, many times and when you order you have to wait to long.

Very overrated, not worth a membership for a restaurant where people are in their hotel slippers. Food was subpar at most, go to Cipriani for better coffee and ‘Italian’ food.

This is an interesting restaurant that is part Italian and part other types of foods. The place has a really nice atmosphere, both inside and outdoors. The restaurant 's waiting area/bar was beautiful. The service was top notch in that they have the patience to allow us to have a conversation before coming to take our orders. The dishes are tasty but the plating was interesting. All the entrees came in a bowl style plating. Overall, it was a good experience.

Shockingly poor experience. Poorly trained staff. Our orders took a very long time without any explanation from server until we finally asked. Following this, a server named Wen arrived not to initially apologize but to declare "We're all going to survive". Bizarre, patronizing and rude – especially considering the prices. Horrible music playing outside on terrace and a table side fire burning on a summer day. Everything about this establishment seems contrived, artificial, pretentious and out of place. Nothing like Amans in Asia.

I have been a hotel guest at Aman twice in the past two months. The hotel is stunning and understated at once. The décor and mood are soothing and details are attended to as expected in a hotel of this caliber. After two stays I have a few notes that would make the guest experience even more superb. We booked our stays using Amex Platinum (Fine Hotels + Resorts) which guarantees a 4pm late checkout amongst other perks. These were not reviewed nor discussed with us at our first stay. We were surprised by a phone call at noon on checkout day asking if we needed assistance with our luggage. The Amex perks had not been applied. To Aman’s credit, during our second stay, they reviewed these perks specifically and adhered to them. We experienced the omakase at Nama which was fabulous. We wished there was a sake pairing, but none is offered. The iPad in the room doesn’t display the menus at Nama or Arva nor does it allow for reservations to be made from the device. This would be useful. The brunch/lunch menu at Arva was hit or miss and the menu had strong breakfast or dinner-ish options but skips over good lunch options (wraps, salads, sandwiches) I had a fabulous spa treatment. However, once changing into a robe and leaving the ladies’ locker room, usually there is a relaxation area to wait for your therapist to take you to the treatment room. There is not a dedicated area for this, I could either wait in the sauna/steam room, in nice seating outside the locker room in the hallway, or inside the pool area. Then my therapist had to walk us downstairs to the treatment rooms. I’d much prefer to go to a pre-treatment area near the treatment rooms to relax with some hot tea. For some reason we had issues during both stays getting items delivered to the room. During our first stay, we were met in our room by our butler, who asked how we take our coffee in the morning (there is a Nespresso in the room and sugar). I said milk, which wasn’t brought. We went out for the evening and forgot. I called again in the morning for milk, and after about 30 minutes I just had black coffee. The milk was never delivered. During our first and second stay, I called for a bucket of ice since we’d brought our own bottle of scotch. The first stay I had to call twice. On the first night of our second stay I had to call 3 times over an hour and a half before the ice was delivered. On the second night, I called and asked for ice again, but after 45 minutes it hadn’t arrived. My husband got frustrated and went looking for an ice machine (about 11pm). He saw a staff member and explained the problem, the staff member was very concerned and we had a bucket of ice delivered in about 5 minutes. Of note, upon our arrival the second stay I asked the butler for milk and it was delivered very promptly. The takeaway here is there is there seems to be a defect in the communication/execution process for these small but meaningful requests. When we checked in for stay 2 we noticed the room was cold and used the IPad to adjust it to 70 degrees. After dinner we came back and it was still cold, however we went to bed. In the morning we addressed the concern with maintenance who promptly troubleshooted the issue. The temperature control was locked to 60 degrees due to a prior guest's request. We received the wrong room on our second stay. We booked the 56th street Premier Suite for the floor to ceiling windows and different layout, however after our stay we realized our room was a Sanctuary Suite facing 57th, which was smaller and lacked the floor plan we were expecting. None of these should deter any sane person from staying at Aman, these observations are constructive feedback to an otherwise outstanding property. Update 8/24 we received our folio after 5 days (!) and we were charged for an open bottle of whiskey, which was open when we arrived. We brought to the attention of both the staff who came to restock the minibar and the front desk during our stay. This is annoying. The service is broadly good but details are lost.
Excellent service. Great food and very informed well trained team. Fabulous suites with sustainable guest amenities. Great location to relax. The wellness spa allows full relation and very welcoming. Pre book in advance for your treatments.
