I had great expectations from my experience at the ATLA in Venice, only tried the Happy hour tacos, the tortillas were cold and the tacos were nothing special compared to the flavors in Mexico City or what I’m used to in Austin and San Diego.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this was going to be a memorable experience. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of character — stylish without being pretentious, and comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the evening. Whether you’re here for a special occasion or just a casual meal, it strikes the perfect balance.

The service was truly outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They made sure we were taken care of without hovering, and their timing was flawless from start to finish.

As for the food — everything was beautifully presented and cooked with care. The flavors were bold, fresh, and balanced, and you could tell that quality ingredients were a top priority. Each plate felt like it was crafted with attention to detail, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming.

Dessert was just as memorable and left a great final impression.

This place exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s rare to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes — atmosphere, service, food, and overall experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

I believe this is another restaurant from the same group that owns Cosme, possibly our favorite spot in the city right now. Like Cosme, their steak (carne asada) was a real standout. Also really loved the fish tostada and brussels sprout tacos. We had several other dishes and truly everything was good. Have a slight preference for this as a great lunch spot (vs dinner), but it’s never a bad choice.

I love everything Chef Olvera does from Pujol to Cosme, his restaurants are flawless! ATLA is no exception! It’s the best option I’ve come across for authentic, high-quality, casual Mexican fare in NYC. I moved to NoHo a couple of years ago and it’s quickly become part of my regular rotation of restaurants. The staff is warm and service is excellent! The happy hour is an affordable option for tacos during the week but the real magic is in going with friends and sharing a bunch of items.

ATLA stands out as a vibrant and accessible spot for those seeking contemporary Mexican cuisine in New York City. Its combination of inventive dishes, inviting atmosphere, and consistent quality make it a noteworthy destination for both casual meals and special occasions.

This restaurant used to be great many years ago but now is only mediocre Mexican food. You can get better tacos down the street. We ordered 2 simple salads with avocado and 1 coffee and it cost $43 each. Very disappointing! One waiter covered the entire lunch crowd in the restaurant and he was slow, all food was delayed and we had to get up to get our check and pay at the bar. He saw us do this and didn't even apologize for the bad service. Do not recommend this restaurant, there are much better Mexican restaurants nearby.

small menu lets the kitchen put out top notch food. Good and friendly service. Bit pricey.

Portion sizes are what you would expect everywhere else in the world except the US. So if you're looking for a tasty, filling meal that isn't unreasonably large, this is your place. If you hope to leave absolutely stuffed in order to feel you got your money's worth, you'll be disappointed. The food is delicious, local, and very creative: many items I've never seen elsewhere.

The food was good. The drinks were excellent. I would just point out that the prices were high based on portion sizes. $18 for two tiny tacos. $20 for a small quesadilla. I know this is NY but still expensive for what you get.

My significant other and I went to ATLA for a cute date. We made a reservation, no problem. We were seated in the patio enclosure.

We ordered our drinks and our food. A Paloma and a Guava Agua Fresca. Delicious. Our food was delivered almost minutes after. Two orders of Suadero tacos. Everything was delicious and we were still hungry, so we waited to order more. No one came to check on us or clear plates for almost 15 minutes after we finished.

We ordered the guacamole after finally getting our server’s attention. We waited 30 minutes, our server came back empty handed and asked us if we wanted anything else. We kindly told them that we ordered the guacamole, and we were still waiting for it. They hurried off and a different person brought us our guacamole.

It took almost 10 minutes for us to get our check and leave our table. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was not so great. Next time we’ll probably order delivery.

My friend and I decided to come here on a whim. The place is fairly small but we were able to get seated right away. I was not a fan of the food or drinks at all. They served drinks in these cheap looking cups that didn’t match the aesthetic. The drink itself was horrible as well- we ended up switching our drinks to classic margaritas and they were just as bad. My food was okay but I tasted too much of the pineapple butter that they spread on the pork. My friend didn’t enjoy her shrimp tacos. I wouldn’t come back here. Lastly , they charged us $38 for 2 drinks and didn’t remove the first drinks we asked to send back because we didn’t enjoy them.

We came for an early dinner, and the place was already busy, but in a good way. We ordered three dishes to share, which were enough for us. The waitress was very nice and recommended a delicious vegetarian dish with mushrooms. I was actually very impressed. The food was spicy, which I love. I will definitely come back!
