While generally well reviewed, ATLA was a mixed bag for me. I had two plates; the Brussels sprout tacos and the salsa Verde bowl. The tacos were genuinely one of the best things I've eaten in NYC. Nutty, warm, sweet, crunchy, an amazing bite. Worth visiting for these only. However the salsa was beyond disappointing, a nicely spicy but otherwise bland bowl with things floating in it. The dough balls were heavy and the rest didn't lighting the flavour or texture. I missed the excitement of the tacos on the flavour profile.

Very disappointing. I was a huge fan, long time since last time I came for brunch. I tried again and it was a terrible experience. We ordered margaritas to start, and these were tequila, lime and ice. I am sure you can make your own much better. We also ordered guacamole to start and it was spicy but no salt, so do not even try. As mains, I got the gringa which was huge, greasy and not very tasty. Very little cheese and no flavor. My wife got the fried chicken breast, which was deeply fried, soaking grease and unsalted. Finally, to try to get by, we got micheladas, which were acceptable but not great. Try a less trendy/ brand name and support smaller Mexican spots which would give you a much better experience. For completeness, we paid $146 :/

The brussel sprout tacos should have songs written about them. And the happy hour is amazing!

Super friendly staff but wow it's so cramped and so expensive. Like even for nyc standards.

Pretty disappointing, I wanted to try this place for while. Food was bland and really lacked strong / original flavors that make mexican cuisine so special. Guac was meh, and Brussel sprout tacos really a shame to charge $20 for 2 pieces so small and flavorless. Staff was attentive and nice, but overall this place is not worth the trip.

I stopped by here yesterday and was very impressed!!! The service was amazing, friendly, warm, efficient and professional. I felt very welcomed!!! I ordered a chicken caesar salad and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! It was soooo delicious & fresh; and the dressing was incredible. The ambience and vibes were awesome. Everything was just wonderful. Thanks for a great dining experience!!!!

Loved it. Dropped in for Sunday lunch after Bethel Noho service.

Tostada del mar - super fresh mackerel with a bite. Then pork. Classic margarita.

Restaurant is light and airy.

Do try Bethel NYC. You can’t help but be changed.

Place is too dark but apart from that atmosphere is nice. Food was good - nothing too special. Had the chicken soup which had all fresh ingredients but really no flavor in terms of spices or anything. Just goo chicken broth with fresh veggies. Excellent service and the team is incredible. The service was the best part of the visit for sure.

Wanted to try this place for a while, service was good, attentive and efficient, always make sure our cups are full. We came on happy hour which soften the blow but I can't say I left happy with what I got. Food felt just ok, the tacos were fine, nothing to write home about, biggest issue was that the tortillas were cold for whatever reason. Guacamole was pretty bland and chips were a bit oily, good thing they were on happy hour cause I can't imagine paying full price for that. Drinks were also pretty meh. Tasted like mixer, same issue as the guacamole, I can imagine paying 20+ dollars for that quality. Overall I can't say this place feels up to its reputation

I absolutely love this trendy Mexican spot! It’s always busy, and there’s usually a line — last time we couldn’t even get in. There were outdoor tables on our street, but they weren’t being served, probably because of a staff shortage. Still, this place is perfect for a fun evening out, a drink with friends, or a casual lunch.

It’s clean, well-run, and the quality is consistently high. Maybe the prices are a bit on the higher side for New York, but honestly — I’m happy to pay any price for that guacamole. It’s hands down the best in the city! 🥑🌮🍸
