Very appealing, nicely presented, creative overpriced food served with attentive service.
Limited selections on a prix fix menu. The menu itself seems very reasonable for New York City but there are so many upcharges that are honestly annoying.

We were really disappointed with the food and the prices at Atoboy. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the squash from the prix-fixe menu. Everything else missed the mark. The oxtail was completely plain and tasted like nothing, the fish was smelly with no flavor, and the fried chicken — which is hyped everywhere — was the most disappointing dish of the night. It came out as 5–6 nugget-style pieces and tasted very mediocre — honestly, McDonald’s nuggets are better. Overall, not worth the cost.

I have been to Atoboy many times and find it well matched for my taste. First, it is a standout modern Korean restaurant tucked away in the Flatiron district that transforms the humble concept of banchan into something extraordinary. Taking its name from the ancient Korean word meaning ‘gift,’ the restaurant opened in 2016 with a menu inspired by banchan—the small side dishes served with every Korean meal.
The space itself is deceivingly simple. Behind an easy-to-miss entrance lies a stripped-down industrial interior with exposed concrete walls that somehow feels both minimalist and welcoming.
The presentation is meticulous—every plate is crafted for both the palate and the eye. The bartenders are equally skilled, complementing the food with expertly made cocktails.
What makes Atoboy special is how it balances sophistication with a vibe that is relaxed despite the high-caliber cooking, and the staff strikes the perfect note of knowledgeable without being pretentious.

I had been here a while back and always looked forward to going back but I feel like it has really gone downhill. There were a few decent dishes but very disappointing for what you pay . We paid extra for oxtail and tuna and the pieces were so small and thin we were literally looking for it in the sauce. Tuna was chopped up and low quality. Pickled side dishes were flavourless and soggy. Would not go back :(

Our meal was good but not great - the kimchi had an off flavor and the pork rib was very greasy. Service was attentive, but the atmosphere (concrete cafeteria) doesn’t align with the price point.

Took my boyfriend for his birthday here and it was incredible! Food is divine and staff was lovely and super friendly. Very nice, chill atmosphere. Must try the sweet potato hot dogs.

We LOVED all but two dishes. The fried chicken, the Uni, the shrimp in particular were absolutely fantastic.
However, the ice cream was foul. It tasted like corroded metal and needs to be removed from the menu.
Still giving this place five stars because the highs were very high

Every course was excellent! I came with my wife and we shared, so we got to try two different dishes for each course. The uni dish was incredible. The squid dish is very special. Both entrees are equally good. We paid for the fried chicken. The portion is small but it was piping hot and melts in your mouth. It’s worth the try.
If I had to pick my favorites: sea urchin, squid, fried chicken, and the steamed rice that came with the entrees.

As of Oct 2025, this restaurant does not have any GF options. Just wanted to drop that here. Also, Atoboy - please update the language on your website about being able to accommodate allergies. Thanks!
The restaurant smelled liked hot garbage which threw the entire experience off. You do not want to eat seafood in an establishment carrying that smell. I blame myself for staying. Service was fine, the issue was truly with the smells and food. The textures of the food combos added to the nausea. If I could get my money back I would.
