Au Za’atar in Midtown is hands-down one of the best Lebanese spots in Manhattan — and honestly some of the best food you’ll find anywhere in the city. Tucked into Midtown East, it delivers that rare combo of big, bold Lebanese flavor and a polished but cozy vibe.

We have been loyal frequent customers of this restaurant and normally have a wonderful experience. Last night, however, we were really disappointed. One appetizer arrived only after we had finished the entire meal, and when we asked to return it, the manager, Marisa, insisted on charging us and became argumentative. There was no apology for the delay or acknowledgment of the mistake. We care about this restaurant and want it to thrive, so I hope management takes this seriously....
