I frequent your London locations often, so I was genuinely excited when I came across one while walking to my West Village shop. I mention that for context because I was already familiar with and fond of your brand.
Unfortunately, my experience upon entering was deeply disappointing. I was not greeted with a hello or welcome. Instead, the Black woman behind the counter said “excuse me” in an irritated tone. When I looked up, realizing she was addressing me, she proceeded to explain that she initially thought I was homeless because I reminded her of two homeless individuals who had apparently caused issues in the shop before.
I was honestly stunned. The only thing I could manage to say was, “wow.”
Nothing about my appearance or attire suggested homelessness — including the fact that I was wearing a $600 pair of Thierry Lasry glasses. More importantly, though, even if someone did appear homeless, no customer deserves to be humiliated or profiled in that manner.
I own three dessert shops in Manhattan myself, and I would never allow an employee to speak to a guest that way under any circumstance. Your employee would greatly benefit from etiquette and sensitivity training, because that interaction was both insulting and completely inappropriate

Loved this bakery spot. The open kitchen concept made the whole experience feel warm and inviting, and it was so nice watching everything being freshly prepared. The coffee was great, and the bread tasted fresh and delicious. Such a perfect little morning spot for coffee and pastries.

Very nice place and super friendly staff. I did not like the cofee, and the baked goods were tasty. Thank you!

I’ve stopped by Supermoon, La Cabra, Librae, and Hani’s. This by far exceeds the bakeries mentioned. I’ve been trying to find an authentic croissant similar to Arsicaults in SF. Aux Merveilleux came very close. The almond croissant was not too sweet, the exterior remained crispy, and the almond paste did not mask the butter profile.
Favorite place for pain au chocolat in this area!! Truly so fresh and delicious. The owner is very friendly. Recommend as a pre / post gallery or The Met visit

It’s a small location, but has the best fresh baked bread items! The sugar brioche and chocolate croissants were delicious!
I'm a huge fan of Aux Marveilleux de Fred, I was having it everyday when I visited Paris this year & I'm familiar, had been in all NYC location but got disappointed today coz I got a bad batch of Chocolate Brioche which is my favorite! It was dry & over baked. I was giving it away to my dentist office & telling them how good & its my favorite. I should have tried it first before giving it to them or I should have tried it before leaving the store. Next time, pls do not sell it. I was actually requesting a freshly baked one but I was told that I have to wait for 18min .We drove a long way for it, at 8 Ave Nyc☹️

A tiny, cozy spot to get French sweet delights in the Village. The lady at the front was wonderful! Warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully guiding us through the patisserie options with love and care. Sending her a hello from Boston! 😊(even caught her in the video)
Every meringue flavor was excellent. They offer a special chestnut flavor exclusively for the holidays. The meringues are airy, delicate, and elegantly crafted. All made fresh in-house. They’re also quite perishable and don’t last long without refrigeration, something to keep in mind if you’re buying them as a gift.
This location is for take-out only, much smaller than their 6th Av shop, which offers a wider selection of treats and is currently selling Bûche de Noël. Visit, you’ll love it!

Tucked away like a little fairy-tale bakery, Aux Merveilleux de Fred instantly feels like you’ve stepped into Paris. The glass window lets you watch the bakers handcraft each gâteau in real time — so elegant and mesmerizing to see. I tried their classic Merveilleux and it was incredibly light, airy, and cloud-like with just the right sweetness. Service was warm and welcoming, and the whole shop smells like butter, sugar, and happiness. Perfect for a coffee break, a French-style breakfast, or to pick up something delicate for hosting.

Excellent artisanal brioches. We're from Italy to New York, and this pastry shop is a must.

The raisin pudding was burnt unlike the midtown store. If you over cook something you should toss it not try or sell it. Not good at all very bitter.
