One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to, the employee took so long to make the food and the smoothie was inedible. Don’t go here

I love Avacados, perfect spot.

Showed up and door was locked. They didn't event call to tell me they were closed for the day. Would have been nice if the restaurant reached out prior to the day of the reservation.

Omar's kitchen is closed apparently. We showed up and although they called me an hour before -- we missed the call bc we were at the theater. I feel like this lapse between OT and the restaurant is a problem. It messed up our Sat night as we were hunting for a local restaurant at 8:30 at night..

We were at Omar's for Valentine's day. The menu was extremely limited and mostly tasty. Presentation is not their strong suit. Appetizers for the table were delicious. Oysters especially creative, interesting sauce. What are the cons for this restaurant: 1. Extremely steep stairs at the entrance with no warning on their website. 2. Extremely loud, unpleasant music with no letup. 3. We were rushed out without even an explanation that there were a number of people waiting for tables. Even with that, rushing custumers with reservations and a prifixe menu is not good business.

Chef needs to be replaced. Menu is good on paper. Bad on practice. Waiter brought appetizers last and entrees first. No apologies. Drinks took an hour. We were there when it was early hours and nearly empty.

Our friend lives across the street yet this was our first visit. Everything was wonderful- food, cocktails, service. And Omar, the owner is a delight. We had a great meal and a great time, and will be back for more!

We got there at 7pm and were the first guests. We found it amazing considering so many other places within a block or two were completely full with waiting lists or at capacity. We thought there must be something wrong, sat at the bar, and were impressed. Shared appetizers, main, side, bread...had cocktails and red wine. A few tables were seated, a few at the bar, but the crowd started to roll in about 845-9pm, when we were leaving. Leo the bartender was great and ensured a return visit. Next time, we will come a little later when the place has some life.

Our third time here and first review. Went on a Monday. Food was delicious, recommend salmon or short ribs. Service on all levels was respectful, thoughtful and friendly. Courses were well timed.

Just moved into the neighborhood and can't believe my luck! One of the best meals I've ever had in the city which is saying a lot, my boyfriend believes in eating out 4 or more nights a week! Would talk about my meal but honestly, I went with a small group and each of us was blown away. Can't wait to return....SOON!

Nice ambiance. Good place for a drink. The kitchen needs some work. Hamachi tostadas pretty good. Duck, I asked for medium rare, came out dry, chewy, sauce heavy-handed. Salmon was also over-cooked. Plates are a bit pricey given the outcomes.

Overall a good experience. The food was good but not great as was the ambiance. The server was good until about midway through the meal and then seemed to have forgotten about us while we watched the drinks that we had ordered 20 minutes earlier languish at the end of the bar in anticipation that someone would pick them up and walk them the 15 paces to our table. Omar has tried to create a VIP club ambiance where people will want to party, see and be seen. For the most part he has done a decent job-- if he could only get that last bit done, where all people in his place feel comfortable and important, he will have succeeded.

Very sorry that I came to this place. Horrific experience. I don't usually write OpenTable reviews but had to this time. This restaurant is just flat out inappropriate. Our male server touched me inappropriately. Two guys sitting were on top of one another at the table next to us. Is Omar's supposed to be a restaurant or a brothel? This place should go out of business.

The maitre d had us all wait till our party was complete at the bar where there was no place to sit let alone stand. Once we were complete she seated us at an awkward table by the bar citing that members had arrived & they did not have a table for us. If they are an establishment for members them why accept reservations from the general public? Why is this not the first thing we see when we look up the restaurant? Why not just let us wait at that same table until we were complete? I just did not get it... Set the tone for the rest of the evening. Service was hard to come by.
