Let me start by highlighting the restaurant in itself, the decoration, the lighting and the setting, as well as the outdoor sitting area are a resemblance to Greek cuisine and culture. The atmosphere and the people also made Avra a great place for a celebration, a romantic dinner or just a night out with friends. Our server, Ernest was very helpful recommending and highlighting dishes from the menu. The complementary Hummus with Pita, was delicious and creamy. We had the grilled Branzino, by the pound, side order of asparagus, roasted beet salad and the fish soup. Our friend had also the grilled Swordfish. The Avra rosé wine was light and fresh. To top it all off, for dessert, we had the newly added “Butter Cake,” you have to try it, cannot describe the satisfaction.
You cannot go wrong picking this restaurant, they are amazing.

Tasty food, nice ambiance. Recently sat at the busy bar for a drink and snack. As I sat, the bartender handed me a menu without first wiping down the greasy bar top from the previous customer who was eating. Hard to ask him to do this. I then ordered a small bite, but the bartender forgot to put it in. With so many staff working behind the bar, I found this to be really weird. I think the service and food at Milos is better.

Restaurantji Recommends
Context: dinner for 4 on a Thursday night.
A few things to mention from our experience, in order of occurrence
1. As we sat down, very diligently we were asked if we wanted water. They asked if we wanted flat or sparkling. We chose flat only to realized later on that tap water was offered to other tables. We were offered tap water later on after having bought 2 bottles
2. The waiter mentioned that it was a great night to be in the restaurant because it was not busy given that there were not that many business dinners taking place. We were on the top floor and there were at most 4 other parties
3. Drinks too a bit long to get to the table, yet they were good. One of my friends order the exact same drink as they did before and when said drink came to the table was completely wrong. They sent it back and another drink was brought to the table which was still wrong but my friend decided to keep it given that drinks were coming slowly
4. The rest of the dinner was ok but it was really hard to get our waiter's attention or anyone else for that matter.
5. In order to get the check we had to waive multiple times until finally someone (out of the half dozen staff members on the floor) saw us (remember, this was a not a busy night).
6. The bill took a bit to get and when it did, we wanted to get out and signed the receipts only to realized that they had charged us for the drink that we sent back.
7. Eventually things got resolved and the manager apologized to us for the mishap with the bill.
I had been to other Avra locations in the city but the experience at this particular location was below par compared to the other locations.

Disappointing place. Customer service was slow, food was un-seasoned, and the energy of the establishment was overly pretentious. There’s nothing Greek about this place other than the olive oil (which is good.) The main positive is that the fish is truly fresh and it’s fun to share with a group of people.

We selected that restaurant due to its proximity to Radio City. We ordered some appetizers, mostly salads and split the fish (which still had some bones). No alcohol. Now I know why website has no pricing on it. With tip, bill came in just under $250. Not worth it at all. The venue is gorgeous however. Only benefit was being with the couple who joined us who we loved being with.

EVERYTHING was delicious. Highly recommend the zucchini chips, orange cake, baklava, west coast oysters, and my table raved about the lamb chops.
