Great place to dine before or after a show. Food and service are terrific! Inside or outside dining.
Nice and inviting restaurant! All of the staff was great and special shoutout to Valeria for the great recommendations and for taking care of us.
We were so happy with our choice to eat at Azalea before our show next door. Our meatball appetizer, homemade pasta dishes & mocktails were all excellent and the service was friendly and caring. If I lived in NYC, I'd definitely return!
The food was good but limited choices. Items on menu were not available. When we asked why they said it had been a busy week. Service was ok. Never asked if I would like a second glass of wine or coffee. I will try it again at some point.
Exceptional service and outstanding food in the theater district makes this a fabulous choice for pretheater dinner. Adjacent to Circle in the Square makes this welcoming restaurant a favorite of theater goers, as well well as others. Recommended.
Location was perfect for pre show dining. We were never rushed, food was delicious, highly recommend grilled calamari & chicken azalea
One of the Lowest Quality Meals I have ever had ANYWHERE. Calamari was straight from bulk purchase freezer bag to dirty oil (you can tell the oil was old/dirty or not hot enough by the way the calamari was coated). The rings were limp & coating soggy. The Branzino had been frozen/refrozen (or...heaven forbid...microwaved) and the meat lost all flakiness and texture. While the skin came out crisp (probably the only actual prep done to the fish while i was there), it also had no flavor (no oil, no lemon) - but i note that this is a personal taste issue, rather than a quality of food issue. The "salad" was 1/2 slice of orange, 2 slices of raw tomato (for hamburgers) and 1 slice of onion. I actually asked to see the menu again after the food arrived to make sure i had read the "salad" correctly since what I received was so far different. On a bright note, Asparagus was good and service was adequate. The restaurant was not crowded (we ate early for early theater) and so it can not be because anyone was rushed in the kitchen. This restaurant is in theater district and obviously is designed to cater to out-of-towners who will not be repeat customers. This "native New Yorker" will also not be a repeat customer. In full disclosure, I ate most of the Branzino so that my dinner companion would not be embarrassed, and while i noted to management that I did not want to be comped (this truly is not a matter of money thing, just a "shame on you" thing)- they did provide a 15% bill discount. Upon writing to the restaurant, i did receive an apologetic response, but the point of this review is to share my experience, and so..that's what i have done.
While he food was tasty, the menu is very limited. The Prix Fixe was also very limited and pricey for what is offered. Coffee lovers be aware that the restaurant charges for a refill which is ridiculous!
We discovered Azalea by accident during the winter. It is now our favorite restaurant in the city. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the location is perfect. It is quiet and relaxing. Couldn't ask for more.
Tables are one on top of another - cannot stand up without my butt in someone else's face to use the ladies room Caesar salad salty and tasted miserable - spaghetti bologese was edible not great and tiny portion bread was chewy and soggy - impossible to bite through the crust got the prixe fix dinner not enough waiters to get all customers to their shows on time very disappointed with the entire meal, the food, service slow although our waiter was very sweet he had too many tables to deal with

Don't bother, To be fair Valerie our server was lovely, the only good thing about our experience. Menu short on both starters and mains, my husbands 2nd choice of ‘homemade' lasagne was less than appealing to look at! Not worth the $200 ...... we did pay service as the kitchen let downs weren't Valerie's fault, in fact the service should go direct to her!
Great service, great drinks and fabulous dinner! My sirloin was prepared exactly as specified and was delicious! Chicken Azalea was flavorful. Ceaser salad was a nice size. Perfect pre theatre show dinner destination. Would return ! Never felt rushed.TY for a great time.
Overall good experience, the location is good and food was solid, better than the average mid town italian restaurant
Ate here before seeing a show on a Sunday evening. Service was outstanding - manager came to our table several times and helped server out. Food was good - we ordered the spaghetti bolognese, lasagna, and rigatoni (sub linguine). Bread was crusty and delicious, served with some of the bolognese sauce. Overall, a good dinner and we made it to our show on-time! Thank you Azalea!
Great location for theater goers. Inside and outside dining and they pay attention to your theater schedule which is great. Italian menu is diverse with many choices......
